Adsense ad in Unwind theme cut off in sidebar

7 years ago · Last reply by Alex S 7 years ago

Hi there, I’m using the Unwind theme for my site and have been quite happy with it. I recently signed up for Adsense Ads and have inserted them into my sidebar with the Adsense Inserter widget. But the right side of the ads get cut-off. Could you advise how I can fix this? You can see the problem at my blog page http://inmidlife.com/blog

I saw a similar thread on another theme from a couple years ago, but the answer involved going in and deleted something from the theme’s CSS code. I didn’t really understand and didn’t want to go mess up the theme.

Would appreciate your assistance. Thanks

By the way, I also tried it with a Siteorigin editor widget and had same problem – sometimes with ad fitting but with a yellow background extending around it.
So would really appreciate a solution to this cut-off ad problem.

    Hi Quenandr,

I’ve had a look at your website and I can’t seem to see any ads. Did you remove them? If so, can you please temporarily add them (or one or two of them) back so I can inspect the resulting issues?

Hi there. No I didn’t remove them. But you can currently only see them if you go into one of the blog posts (i.e. click on “read more” on blog page).

Tried to take a screen print as an example, but can’t attach it.

    Hi Quenandr,

The yellow background is due to the AdSense code being nested inside of an ins element. Is there a specific reason why you’re doing this? Could you please provide me with a full copy of your embed code?

Regardless, while I do see the yellow area I can’t seem to see an ad.
Can you please send me a copy of that screenshot? Please note that we’re currently not able to process attachments so you’ll need to upload the image to a third party image hosting site like Imgur or vgy.me and send me a link.

I am using the Adsense Inserter widget. Just following their directions. But I’d welcome any alternative suggestions.

    Hi Quenandr,

    I don’t see that. :(
For reference, here’s a screenshot of what I see.

Can you please try adding the AdSense code to a Custom HTML widget directly to rule out a widget issue?
