Adding (black) menu bar to the top of site, like WP bar

Hi all,

forgive the basic question – a little new to WP and site customisation. Real glad to have settled on Site Origin!

I’m using the Unwind theme. Just wondering how to go about adding a black bar, though I suppose colour doesn’t matter so much as presumably that’ll be customisable, similar to the one on this site, and also the one that appears when logged in to WordPress and customising a site.

The webpage is here: www.waverunneraudio.com

And I’d like to add something like this for containing links:

Any advice/pointers much appreciated!

Ross

    Hi Ross,

You can actually show the admin bar on the frontend users to logged out users but it really depends on what you want to show but it’s not easily customized. I would look into using a Top Bar plugin, like WP-TopBar (here’s a general search for top bar).

    Hey Alex,

Many thanks for the reply – good to know plugins are the way forward, the WPFront Notification Bar does the trick for now! It’s more of an aesthetic thing at present for how it frames the site. Thanks again
