Hi, there might already be a solution to “my” problem but I can’t find it. I’m putting together a website using Vantage theme. Adding a slider was easy but the problem is I can’t add the same slider to my “blog section”
–I’m quite new to WordPress–
As you can check on the link below – on the menu I have 4 buttons – 2 of them are “pages”, home button is a “costume link” – to these three I can add the slider and it works fine. The problem is “blogs” as it is a “category” button where all my future blogs will be found. And it seems like I can’t add a slider to a category.
Is there a workaround to add a slider to a category or to have an item in the menu that will display blogs (as a category) and I’ll still be able to add the slider?
Hi Klementime
Thanks for reaching out.
The workaround for your blog page is to not set Blog as your posts, go to Settings > Reading and de-select it as your posts page. Then go to Pages > Blog, click Page Builder tab and insert a Post Loop widget. That’ll let you select a page slider and if you want, add content around the post loop.
You could manually create category pages using another page and the Post Loop widget query builder, it’ll let you search for a category to display in the Taxonomy field. However, it’s not possible to do this with the regular category pages. The only way to do what would be via custom development. We recommend Codeable if you’d like to investigate that with a developer.
