Accordion Widget Strips p tags

Hi

I’ve seen a few threads on there mentioning this problem (about a year ago!) one which suggests it would be fixed in the next update but it appears to still be a problem.

When using the free accordion widget all p tags are stripped upon saving – when will you be resolving this or is there something I can do to stop this happening in the interim?

Thanks

Sophie

    Hi Sophie

    Thanks for posting.

The Accordion widget uses the same TinyMCE Editor as the core WordPress Classic Editor. WordPress strips paragraphs tags when switching from the Text to Visual tabs. Paragraph tags are then automatically added later. If you leave your Accordion TinyMCE Editor in the Text tab and don’t switch to visual, your p tags will be maintained. If you switch to the Visual tab, the tags are removed but added later, you can see this if you inspect the output.

You could deactivate the Visual tab by editing your user account under Users, that’ll remove the Visual tab and prevent accidental switching over.
