Accordion Widget stopped working

I also a big problem with the accordion widget after updating my plugins a few days ago. The accordion widgets on my site have disappeared completely, together with the content of the widgets. When I go to ‘edit page’ it now says in the row where the widget used to be “Missing widget”, and underneath that “LSOW Accordion Widget”.

If I click on it, I get the following message>

In DUTCH: Widget LSOW_Accordion_Widget is niet beschikbaar. Probeer de missende plugin te vinden en te installeren. Plaats een bericht op de support forums als je hulp nodig hebt.”

TRANSLATED IN ENGLISH this is: “Widget LSOW_Accordion_Widget is not available. Try to find and install the missing plugin. Put a message on the support forum if you need help.”

The plugin was and is already installed, so this suggestion didn’t offer any solution. However, when I looked at the SiteOrigin widgets under the Plugins in the Dashboard menu, the Accordion widget was deactivated. So I reactivated the widget. Unfortunately, this didn’t help. The widgets and their content are still completely missing from my site, and I still get the same error message.

    first line: also > have

I temporarily ‘solved’ the problem by restoring the website to a site backup of a week ago. However, I’m afraid to update the plugins of the site now, especially the “Livemesh SiteOrigin Widgets” and “Page Builder by SiteOrigin” plugins, because then the Accordion widgets might disappear again. Any advice what I should do now?

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Rheeskens,

I’ve heard of a number of reports of the Livemesh SiteOrigin Widgets plugin deactivating itself after the latest update. Please update Livemesh SiteOrigin Widgets and then navigate to WP Admin > Plugins > Installed Plugins and ensure the Livemesh SiteOrigin Widgets plugin is installed and activated.

Hi Alex, thanks for replying to my question. It looks like a part of your answer is missing, after “Then navigate to WP Amin > plungins > SiteOrigin”, or am I not reading your reply correctly? What should I do, after having updated the Widgets plugin and checking that it is installed and working? This is what I already tried before.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Rheeskens,

Sorry about that! The last line was: Then please navigate to WP AdminPluginsSiteOrigin Widgets and ensure the Livemesh Accordion widget is still activated.

To answer your question, the missing instructions likely won’t be needed based on feedback from the other users who reported this issue (being the issue of Livemesh SiteOrigin Widgets deactivating itself after update) but if it is, this will confirm if the widget is visible to the Siteorigin Widgets Bundle and if it’s activated or not. Let me know one you’ve tried the above – if you’ve attempted it before, please try it again.

    Hi Alex,

The accordion widgets have disappeared again!

    What I did was:
    – I’ve first updated WordPress
    – updated all plugins, accept Page Builder, SO Widgets Bundle and Livemesh SO Widgets
    – checked if the accordion widget was still working fine: it was
    – updated Page Builder: accordion widgets on website still working fine
    – updated SO Widgets Bundle: acordion widgets still working fine

However: when I went to > Plugins > SiteOrigin Widgets, it was indicated that the accordion widget was inactive. Which is strange, because it was still visible on the website, also after refreshing the page. To double check, I opened another browser and emptied the cache and checked the website again: the accordion widgets where still present.

Then the last thing I did was updating SO Livemesh Wigets. After that, the wigets had disappeared again from the website. I checked at > Plugins > SiteOrigin Widgets, and there the widget was still showing as active.

So, there really seems to be a problem with the last SO Livemesh Widgets update. What should I try now, any further advice? Or do I have to wait until the next update, to see if the problem is solved by then?

    Hi Alex,

Sorry, I forgot to do the last check of your advice. And indeed when I checked, after updating the SO Livemesh Widgets plugin, it somehow had deactivated itself. When I activated it, the accordion widgets showed up again.

So just activating the plugin again seems to solve the problem.

    Thanks for your help!
