Accordion problems with size

I need to put an accordion tab for each state and display information about each. I got to about 12 states and the widget no longer works, lost my entries, and displays this text on my web page instead of the accordian:
,"design":{"heading":{"background_color":"#ffffff","background_hover_color":"#8C8C8C","title_color":"#000000","title_hover_color":false,"border_color":"#97b742","border_hover_color":"#97b742","border_width":"1px","border_width_unit":"px","so_field_container_state":"open"},"panels":{"background_color":"#F9F9F9","font_color":false,"border_color":false,"border_width":false,"border_width_unit":"px","margin_bottom":"10px","margin_bottom_unit":"px","so_field_container_state":"open"},"so_field_container_state":"open"},"_sow_form_id":"5a7cb5fb35e60","_sow_form_timestamp":"1518127159143"}}”]

Is there an issue with how many I can add or the total text size?
Each new addition takes a long time to complete and I was saving after every 2 or 3

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Pam,

We don’t apply any limits to how many accordion items you can have. I just tried creating an accordion with 20 items and it worked without issue. So I’m not too sure what’s going on. Hm. Does this issue occur if you update SiteOrigin Widgets Bundle to the latest version?

I believe the problem is integration with Salient Visual Composer. I disabled all non SiteOrigin plugins and tested updates after adding them back in.

If I disable the Visual Composer plugin, I lose the composer, but am able to create an accordion that saves. If I enable Visual Composer, it keeps the coding for the original accordion even when I delete the widget and even the entire row. If I then add a new row and new accordion with the composer, it doesn’t save the new one but I still see the original accordion. The only way to edit is to go to Classic mode.

I seem to be able to switch to Visual Composer after creating an accordion in classic mode and then switching to VC and saving as a template. I have added the template using VC to a test page and it seems to work. The only way to edit the accordion is to use classic mode which moved the accordion to a different place, but at least its working.

I think this post may have the same issue: SiteOrigin Widget on Visual Composer keeps reset to default

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Pam,

Salient Visual Composer? Is that a fork (which means it’s derived from) of the main Visual Composer plugin? If so, what version of VC is that plugin based on? Are you able to replicate this issue with Visual Composer?

My site is hosted on Pantheon and they have posted "Visual Composer: Page
Builder" as a known WordPress plugin with issues. I inherited this website and platform so am making discoveries daily.
    Visual Composer: Page Builder <https://vc.wpbakery.com/>

*Issue*: This plugin requires write access to the site's codebase for editing files, which is not granted on Test and Live environments by design.
I don't think the Salient theme has been updated (installed version 8.0.15,
current version 8.5.3). Salient switched to WPBakery version at the end of last year and the current VC version is Version 5.0.1 | By Michael M –
    WPBakery.com | Modified by ThemeNectar <http://wpbakery.com/> | Visit plugin site <http://vc.wpbakery.com/> .

My next steps are to update the theme and accompanied Visual Composer in the development environment to test. Any insights would be welcome.

    Hi Pam,

*Issue*: This plugin requires write access to the site’s codebase for editing files, which is not granted on Test and Live environments by design.

Unfortunately, if that’s the issue/cause there’s no real way of avoiding this issue outside of changing host or adjusting directory permission to give it more accessible. To be honest, I’m not really sure what edits your hosting provider is referring too outside of certain changes made to wp-uploads which should be editable.
