Accessible for visual impairment

11 years ago · Last reply by Andrew Misplon 10 years ago

Hi

My website needs to be accessible for people with visual impairments e.g. font sizes changing. The widgets I’ve found don’t seem to work with the theme, such as vantage headers etc. Is there any way this can be integrated?

Many thanks

    Hi H

Sorry, I’m not quite with you there. When you say widgets aren’t working, can you perhaps send through some more info on what’s happening?

I think they are saying that SiteOrigin templates do not conform to accessibility standards. I have ran several accessibility validation tests on the HTML output of certain widgets, and they are a mess, and would really make it difficult for a person with visual impairment to browse a SiteOrigin driven site. I’ve spent over a month customizing siteorigin HTML output via hooks and filters to get the right accessibility code to show up.

      Hi Chris

Thanks for your feedback, glad to hear you’ve been making progress with your site. Vantage, unfortunately, isn’t an accessibility ready theme. I’ve marked this thread as a feature request. We often look through these threads to get ideas for what to add in our future updates. Hopefully, we’ll be able to add this in a future update.
