    Hi, I Work Here

The sidebar emulator functionality will create an invisible dynamic widget area that will trick certain widgets into thinking they’re adding to a traditional sidebar rather than SiteOrigin Page Builder – basically, it will emulate sidebars. This is sometimes required for certain widgets that check if the widget is active or not before outputting – this is really uncommon.

The Sidebar Emulator isn’t something that’s typically required so more often than not, it’s safe to disable. If you do run into issues with how widgets are displaying, I would try re-enabling it. It’s not directly possible to outline a proper use case for when it’s required because there’s no clear-cut sign of an issue with a widget requiring the Sidebar Emulator. As such, if you’re having issues I would try disabling/activating the Sidebar Emulator to see if it helps or not.
