A gap persists between title/navigation bar and body

3 years ago · Last reply by Andrew Misplon 3 years ago

Hello,
I have searched for answers and can’t seem to find a way to rid the gap between the title/navigation bar and the body of the site. I use the ‘Hide Page and Post Title’ plug in and have removed all top margins from row and widget as well as all top padding (removed as in set to 0). What does work is that the actual title doesn’t show but there is the blank space just there (gap). I have also tried utilizing Page Attributes, changing from ‘Full-Width’ to ‘Full-Width No Title.’ There still seems to be a gap. I had tested this on several themes and this gap showed. I was tempted to revert to editor to find this piece of code that is causing this gap, but was deterred by a post that noted they weren’t able to go back to ‘rows and widgets’ and had to rebuild their site. I am not a coder. Is there CSS to remove this gap that I can add to pages that have this issue on my site?

    Hi Rvardon

    Thanks for reaching out.

Do you have a public URL where we can take a look at what’s going on?

    Thanks for the link.

Try going to Pages and locating your home page. Edit the page and set the Template to Default Template. Next, scroll down to Page Settings. Set the Page Layout to No Sidebar and disable the Header Bottom Margin. Does that help?

It worked! Is default template and toggling between different page settings my option then, when adjusting each page.

    Thank you so much!

Super; glad to hear you’re making progress. For the Page Settings to take the best effect with the theme in question, indeed, please, switch to the Default Template first.

All the best with your site :)

    Cheers

    Andrew
