Hello,
I’ve been testing out the various boxes/widgets for hours and I can’t find one where I can place an image, with text at the bottom of the image. Spoiler alert, this is for a News website that I’m building in the ColorMag theme. Ideally, I’d like to be able to place everything I’d put in a post into one of your boxes/widgets. Unfortunately, I do not see this option. It’s either picture or text but not both.
I’d think ‘Post Content’ might do this. But ‘Post Content’ does nothing literally. It’s as if it’s broken. There’s no place for content nor an image. It’s just selectors with a CSS option. But there’s no place for text nor an image.
Please advise. Thanks!
A box to post an image with text is all I need

Hi Sarah,
Are you sure you’re using SiteOrigin Page Builder? There isn’t actually a post content widget included with the plugin so this leads me into thinking you’re using a different plugin. To clarify, this is what SiteOrigin Page Builder looks like: https://wordpress.org/plugins/siteorigin-panels/screenshots/
If you are using SiteOrigin Page Builder, you can do this with the text widget or, ideally, I would recommend installing the SiteOrgiin Widgets Bundle as it’ll allow you to do this less with markup and more with widgets. Once installed please navigate to WP AdminPluginsPage Builder and ensure that the image widget is activated.
Now, you can either use the image widget and the text widget to do this, or you could use the editor widget.
Please take a look at your own web page and product. You’ll see on your own page is a widget named, Post Content. I’m letting you know it doesn’t allow for a person to post images with words. Once you realize this is part of your product hopefully you can inform me how I might use it to post both a picture and text at the same time.
You’ll find ‘Post Content’ with your other list of widgets on this page, where a snapshot has been taken, count three to the right and three down. There you will see, ‘Post Content’.

Hi Sarah,
Sorry about that! This is actually rarely used widget so we don’t actually come across it very often. So based on your requirements, this isn’t the widget you’re after as it doesn’t actually allow you to do what you want to do. It basically allows you to display the content of another post.
I would recommend following the advice in the second half of my post as that will allow you to do what you’re after. The widgets bundle route is the recommended method as it’s a much more visual method.
The Image widget doesn’t allow for text to be posted at the same time from what I can tell. If it does, please direct me as to where I’d place the text or link to the story I want to post.
I’m building a news website. The post of each story should have a picture/img, title and intro text, so when the user clicks the image or text it takes them to the full story. This is what I have been doing with posts. I want to be able to use PageBuilder to do this.
Which widget would work best for this?
Hi Sarah,
The image widget is specifically for images. You’ll want to use an editor or text widget after the image widget if you also want to add text.
While the image widget can be used to link to other things, you might be better off with a post loop widget, depending on the if your theme supports excerpts or not. If it does, use that. If it doesn’t use the image widget plus (/ or) an editor widget.
