15 Second Load Due to Pagebuilder Plugin

Hi there! I’m getting 15 second load time due to the pagebuilder plugin. When I disabled it, it was super fast. Any suggestions? I selected to only have the page builder on pages and not posts hoping that would help. I LOVE the plugin but need to figure out this slow load issue for this client. I don’t have many other plugins installed and activated but I do have a catalog installed (eCommerce Product Catalog by impleCode). Could it be conflicting? The catalog is the main feature the customer wants.

Thanks!!

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Dawn,

I’ve run a couple of external tests to try and work out what the issue is. According to a number of tests I’ve run the average load time for the server itself (meaning just the page, no resources) is sub 500ms. Which is pretty good actually. However, it should be noted that there is a large performance impact from the redirection of non-www to standard www. Are you redirecting with a plugin? Or via htaccess?

Now, your main issue is images. This image is 7.3MB. This image is 4.4mb. And finally this iamge is 2.4MB.

This also explains the increase in load times due to the lack of our plugin as your slider is SiteOrigin powered.

Please take a look at the pingdom test for a full readout. My suggestion would be to lower the size of each of the above images to under a megabyte and then install / run EWWW Image Optimizer.

Ok I’ll try that Alex and get back with you!

I reduced the photo sizes and installed the image optimizer. That sped things WAY up. Thanks!!! I’m at just over 2 second load time.
