WPML Translation

By Kazuki Tessy Teshima, 10 years ago. Last reply by Kay69, 10 years ago.

Hi SiteOrigin team,

I am now trying to translate our Japanese website into English by using WPML translation plugin.

However, I can not figure out how I can translate the content that was made by Custom Home Page from Appearance.

Here is our website URL:
Japanese: http://gotwos.com
English: http://gotwos.com/en

I hope that you can help me out.

Best,

Kazuki

    Hi, I Work Here

Hi Kazuki. Easiest here will be to transition that page to a regular page: Create a page called Home, select the Full Width, No Title template, click over to Page Builder, click the paintbrush icon and clone the current home page. Go to Appearance > Home Page and turn Home Page OFF. Go to Settings > Reading and set your new home page as the static home page.

    Hi Andrew,

    Thanks for your support.
    Your suggestion works very well.

However, I can see the bars next to each blog post on the top page after the transition.
Do you know any ways to delete those bars?

    Sincerely,

    Kazuki

    Hi, I Work Here

No problem. Is the site live or could you perhaps share an image (https://imgur.com/) of the bars so I can see them?

You can see the bars from the URL below:

    Japanese: http://gotwos.com
    English: http://gotwos.com/en

    What do you think?

    Hi, I Work Here

Are you referring to the bar at the top of the page? Are you asking how to remove that?

    Andrew,

    Thanks for the reply.
Actually the bars disappeared today… strange… but thanks!

I am now trying to translate WooCommerce Thanks page. Do you know how can I do that?

I use WooCommerce Multilingual Plugin for that, but when I try to use it, it says
Fatal error: Call to undefined function get_current_screen() in /home/users/0/lolipop.jp-96513a0afd4bac0/web/go2s/login/wp-content/themes/vantage/extras/settings/settings.php on line 518

I think there is a problem with vantage theme.
What should I do with this issue?

    Hi, I Work Here

Please head to Dashboard > Updates and check whether there is an update for Vantage and Page Builder pending, please update both if there is.

Thanks! After updating, it works greatly!

But the woocommerce sidebar plugin broke.
Do you think you can fix this?

    Hi, I Work Here

WooSidebars? How has it broken? What happened?

    Hi, I Work Here

Ok so you mean the formatting of that sidebar has been lost. Was it previously formatted correctly?

  12. 10 years, 4 months ago Kazuki Tessy Teshima

Yes, it was formatted correctly before the updates.

    Hi, I Work Here

Apologies, it looks like WooCommerce has changed an aspect of that widget code which has affected our styling of the widget. We’ll resolve with an update to Vantage ASAP.
