WPInked not available anymore?

Open 5 replies generalquestion

Hello,

I was using Widgets for Siteorigin plugin from WPInked on my website. When transferring my website I noticed the plugin is not available anymore. Is there a way to still use their blog widget? Can’t find a good alternative plugin with the exact settings.

I can still manually install the plugin, but there won’t be any updates, so I guess this is not safe to use?

Cheers!

    Hi Mithras

I can’t reach Adi the original author but perhaps the plugin was transferred because recently another developer was replying on their WordPress.org support forum. The premium version is here https://siteronin.com/widgets/ but I don’t see a link to download the free version. Here is a version I grabbed from my localhost. We’ll hopefully have a SiteOrigin Blog widget out in the near future.

    Hello,

    Thanks for the quick reply!

Is it safe to use the plugin when it’s no longer possible to update this plugin?
Or will there be updates in the future for the free version?

And why can’t I find the premium version straight in the WP dashboard?
Will the premium version be updated?

    Cheers!

    Hi :)

The note on the plugin directory says it was removed the directory for guideline violations, I’m not sure of the specifics. I can activate the plugin without issue and have a personal client still using the plugin but can’t offer assurances beyond that as we aren’t the authors. I, unfortunately, can’t speak to the situation with the premium version, you’d need to reach out to the new owners, link above. Thanks.

Sure, no problem. The new owner replied to a support topic on WordPress.org that I also replied to they seem to be responding. Hopefully, they can assist.

If any SiteOrigin questions arise in the future, please, let us know.

    Cheers for now :)
