WooCommerce and Vantage Premium

Whenever I try to perform a checkout using WooCommerce with the Vantage premium theme, the country and state dropdown menus do not work. This issue appears in all browsers. Why might this issue be occurring and how can it be resolved?

All other address details can be filled in, but the dropdown menu does not populate any state or country options.

Thank you.

    Andrew,

The “Enable enhanced country select boxes” does not appear in my WooCommerce setting general tab. I am using WooCommerce version 2.4.7. Any other ideas?

    Hi, I Work Here

Thanks for the feedback. I’m not sure this is something we’ll be able to resolve, it might need to go to WooCommerce support. Let’s just quickly confirm there is nothing else going on. To do that let’s run a standard troubleshoot:

    1. De-activate all plugins at once except WooCommerce.
    2. Switch to the Twenty Fifteen, Twenty Fourteen or any default WordPress theme.
    3. Test the issue. Does it still occur.

If it does then you’ll have confirmed no other plugin or the theme was involved. It’s a good first step.

    Hi, I Work Here

Here is another thread discussing the challenge:

    http://www.kriesi.at/support/topic/country-and-state-dropdown-not-working-in-chrome/

    One solution:

I found the issue – The Woocommerce Checkout Manager plugin just got updated and it appears to have solved the issue./

    Andrew,

Thanks for all of the suggestions. After deactivating the plugins one-by-one, it seems that the W3 Total Cache plugin causes the issue with WooCommerce. I’m not sure if this is specific to the Vantage theme, but it is resolved now.

    Thank you!

    Hi, I Work Here

Super, glad to hear you found the cause! Caching plugins have the power to cause several challenges. I usually just use their most basic setup. If you’re keen you can try experiment with the settings in W3 Total Cache. Something like JavaScript minification might have been the problem.

    All the best.
