Okay, so I just discovered A new problem on my website but with mobile this time. SiteOrigin Social Media buttons and LiveMesh Posts Carousel, and a Rapidology call-to-action widget aren’t displaying correctly on mobile. Any idea how I can fix this?
Thanks
Hi Tammy,
Do you have a public URL where we can take a look at what’s going on?
http://karonn.com/ here you go. It looks fine on dekstop. Not so much on mobile.
Hi Tammy,
Hm. I can’t seem to see why this is happening. Would it be possible for you to send me an export for this widget? To do this open up the page with the widget and click layout in the Page Builder toolbar. Then click import/export and then click download. Please upload the export to a 3rd party file hosting site such as teknik.io.
Also, can you try disabling all non-SiteOrigin plugins and see if this fixes the issue? You’ll need to clear all your caches after disabling your plugins.
If it does fix the issue, then try re-enabling your plugins one by one until the issue comes back. This procedure will help diagnose which plugin is causing the issue.
Once we know that, we’ll be able to look at what might be causing the conflict and either solve the problem or help you find an alternative plugin.
Hi Alex,
I tried cleaning my mobile cache & disabling all non-SiteOrigin plugins but the problem still persists. Here’s the link to the layout https://tknk.io/8fIn
Can’t this be fixed with a CSS code?
Thanks
Hi Tammy,
Just to confirm, did you disable the Rapidology and Livemesh widgets? Also, was the WC Shortcodes plugin disabled also? I ask as I tried the local version of your layout and was unable to experience any issues so something must be interfering.
No. Regardless, that would be avoiding the issue rather than resolving it.
No, I didn’t. All those plugins are active. Here’s a list of my active plugins:
Google Analytics
Livemesh SiteOrigin Widgets
PageBuilder SiteOrigin Widgets
Rapidology by LeadPages
Selection Sharer
Shortcodes by AngieMakes (used in my Latest Posts section)
Simple Custom CSS and JS
SiteOrigin CSS
SiteOrigin Importer (NEXT)
SiteOrigin Installer
SiteOrigin Widgets Bundle
SumoMe
UpDraftPlus – Backup/Restore
WP Smush
And my inactive plugins:
Akismet
Duplicate Page
Launcher
MailChimp for WordPress
Parallax Scroll by Adamrob.co.uk
WooCommerce
WooCommerce PayPal Express Checkout Gateway
WooCommerce Table Rate Shipping by Mangohour
YITH Pre-Order for WooCommerce
WordPress Reset
I’ve also tried another Android phone to check it but it looks the same. Problem’s still there. I even created a new page, used the page builder and added those three problematic widgets without changing anything in its settings to see if I made some settings error. Problem still persists.
I’m hoping a CSS code or something could help fix it.
Hi Tammy,
Can you please try temporarily deactivating those plugins? I understand that they’re being used on the page but this is only temporary to rule them out as being the source of the issue.
Hi Alex. Okay. I setup a Maintenance Mode page and I have deactivated the plugins. What now?
Hi Tammy,
How does that look now? Are the issues still present after disabling all non-SiteOrigin Plugins?
Yes. As expected, the issues are still present.
See, I didn’t add any other plugins until my website was all set. So among the active plugins, SumoMe, UpDraftPlus – Backup/Restore, WP Smush, Google Analytics & Selection Sharer were installed only a few days ago. I already noticed this problem even before they were installed so they can’t possibly cause the problem, right? The only other non-SiteOrigin plugins I have installed when I was building the website are Rapiddology, Shortcodes by AngieMakes & Simple Custom CSS and JS.
I really need this fixed right now. Is there no way to fix this asap?
Hi Tammy,
Just to clarify, did you temporarily disable the other plugins you had installed (specifically, Rapiddology, Shortcodes by AngieMakes & Simple Custom CSS and JS)? I have to ask as a plugin conflict test is only valid if the only plugins active are the only plugins that won’t conflict (SiteOrigin Plugins won’t conflict while, for example, Rapiddology may).
I didn’t see any obvious fixes when I initially looked but I can take another look if you restore access to the website.
Hi Alex,
I forgot to mention, I already uninstalled Simple Custom CSS and JS as I realized I won’t be needing it anymore. Rapidology and Shortcodes by AngieMakes are both active and the I just disabled by Maintenance Page. You should see the website now.
If you need other plugins to be activated/deactivated, please let me know. I really need this fixed. Especially the Livemesh Post Carousel (People section) and Social Media buttons.
Thanks
Hi Tammy,
So, to clarify, have you tried disabling Rapidology and Shortcodes by AngieMakes?
Would it be possible for you to create a temporary admin account for us so we can log in and take a look at your settings?
Hi Alex,
Yes. I have tried disabling those two, nothing happened. My Latest Post disappeared because it was made using Shortcodes by AngieMakes and the call-to-action section disappeared because, well Rapidology was disabled. But the LiveMesh Post Carousel and Social Media buttons remain problematic.
I created a new admin account. Here are the login details — username: Private Snippet | password: Private Snippet
Please let me know if it works.
Thanks!
Hi Tammy,
Please note that this is a public forum. As a result, I’ve changed the provided passwords for security reasons. If you wish to alter them, please navigate to WP AdminUserAll Users and find and alter the created account.
Okidok. I’ll probably delete that account account once this is fixed. Just please let me know once this is fixed. Thanks so much.
Hi Tammy,
Unfortunately, I can’t seem to figure out why this is happening. :(
Would it be okay if I create a backup of your website for local testing? That way I’ll be able to run some much larger tests that I otherwise wouldn’t be able to without greatly affecting your website.
Hi Alex,
Yes. That’s fine. As long as this gets fixed. Also, as of now, I’m not sure if you know but my entire website looks messed up on mobile. everything looks big. :(
Hi Tammy,
Thanks. I’ve run a few tests and it looks like the LiveMesh Posts Carousel is causing the issues on your homepage (you can confirm this by either temporarily disabling the plugin or removing the widget on your homepage). I can’t seem to see an obvious reason as to why this is occurring so I would recommend contacting Livemesh about this. Sorry mate. :(
Oh, Okay. Thanks though. Can you please just put my website the way it used to be? Don’t know what you did but right now everything looks big on mobile, not just the Social Media buttons and Carousel post. As in everything.
Thanks
Hi Tammy,
Oh! Sorry, I’ve reverted the row layout change. How’s that?
Back to normal! Thanks for all your help, Alex.
And oh, also, I know it’s against the rules but I was wondering if you can remind me again how to change the links/add more social media accounts to the social media buttons in my NavBar. I had this one figured out before but now, I can’t seem to remember it…
Thanks
Hi Tammy,
Please navigate to WP AdminAppearanceCustomize, Theme SettingsHeader and click Edit Widget.
Thanks so so much!
