Widget Styles menu won’t load

I’m a new WordPress user. I’m following a tutorial to create a WP website and following step by step.

I’m using Black Studio TinyMCE Widget with Page Builder. Everything was working fine. I uploaded an image and went to view page. When I went back to the Visual Editor to edit, the Widget Styles menu on the right wouldn’t load. I just get a moving circle which looks like it’s loading but it doesn’t appear no matter how long I leave it.

I’ve tried reinstalling the theme I’m using, deleted my content and started the tutorial from scratch and experienced exactly the same problem. The Widget Styles menu appeared at first, but when I went to edit it disappeared and showed as loading but never appeared.

I’ve installed exactly the same plugins as the person doing the tutorial and done everything as he has step by step so I don’t see why I should have a problem that he isn’t having.

I’ve deactivated all other plugins but this has no effect and the problem is still there.

I tried the SiteOrigin Editor widget instead of the Visual Editor widget and get exactly the same problem, which is the menu to the right won’t load, I just get the animated circular icon which looks like it’s loading but it doesn’t appear. So whatever is causing the problem is causing it for both plugins/widgets.

All my plugins and WordPress are updated to the latest versions.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Callyofficial

Would it be possible for you to create a temporary admin account for us so we can log in and take a look? You can create the account with the following email address:

    [email protected]

Just navigate to Users > Add New in your WordPress admin. Enter siteorigin for the username and [email protected] for the email address. Make sure you’ve selected Administrator for the role and enabled the “Send Password” field so we receive the details.

Once we’re finished taking a look, you can delete this account. We’ll let you know when to do that.

    Hi, I Work Here

Phew, no idea. Tried all the usual suspects. I’m going to need to consult with the guys on this one. As soon as we’ve had a chance to chat on our side I’ll come back to you.

Was the widget sidebar panel every working? If it was, do you know when it stopped?

    Thanks

Sorry for the late response. My girlfriend has been in hospital so I’ve not had much chance to get near a computer.

I believe it was working fine as I managed to get through quite a bit of the tutorial without problem. The side panel all of a sudden seemed to stop working. I can’t think of anything that might have triggered this, but I’m pretty certain it wasn’t from installing a plugin, because in the tutorial I watched, the plugins were installed all at once at the very start of the tutorial, so I did the same, and it wasn’t until a while after that the problem arose. I hope this helps in some way.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Callyofficial

Tesseract theme recently switched from supporting SiteOrigin Page Builder to Beaver Builder. I can see that you have both installed. The issue you’re seeing is probably a conflict between these 2 plugins. I’ve seen it come up a few times recently.

The solution here might be to disable Beaver Builder, or switch from using SiteOrigin Page Builder to using Beaver Builder.

I’ve just checked to see if it’s a plugin conflict…

I deactivated all plugins except Black Studio TinyMCE Widget and Page Builder by SiteOrigin. I still get the same problem.

If I deactivate all except Black Studio TinyMCE Widget and Beaver Builder Plugin (Lite Version) then the layout of the back-end changes so I’m not able to follow the tutorial.

I’m starting to think I should end this tutorial and watch another one that uses a different theme and combination of plugins. Although I’m a few hours into working on this I don’t seem to be getting anywhere with resolving this problem, even with your help.

Are you able to recommend any good tutorials, bearing in mind I’m new to this so need something easy to follow.

Actually it might not be such a good idea to ignore this problem and start from scratch, because that won’t get rid of the problem and could prevent me using any of these plugins in the future.

Could the problem be with my installation of WordPress?

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Callyofficial

The best solution here might be to contact Tyler and ask what he suggests. It’s possible that because he’s often working with people who are using the Tesseract, Page Builder, Beaver Builder, Widgets Bundle combination, that he’s seen this issue before and knows what the issue is.

It’s possible that he’ll be updating his video guides soon to cover Beaver Builder, so it might also be worth asking him about that.

Great advice. I will contact Tyler. Many thanks for your help. Hopefully he’ll be able to shed some light on my issue

    Hi,

I am having this same issue.

I am using Page Builder bundled with the Theme Trust Create theme and Theme Trust have suggested I contact you. I have tried all the usual things such as deleting and deactivating and reinstalling plugins but it still does not load.

    Help would be much appreciated.

    Thanks
    Josh
