Widget for Header in Twenty Seventeen WordPress Theme

Hi All,
I’m pretty new to website building, and I’m trying to create a contact form to show up on my header image, using the Twenty Seventeen wordpress theme. This could be a pop-up box, a fixed form, or something that slides in from the side–I can’t figure out any of it.
I’ve added Page Builder and Widget Bundle as plugins. The problem I seem to be having is that when I try to add widgets to my page, the only options I get are for “blog sidebar”, “footer 1” and “footer 2”. I’m not even sure that seeing the “header” option would fix anything, but I’m hoping someone can help me figure this out.
Thank you,
Taslim

    Hi Taslim

    Thanks for reaching out.

Page Builder can add content to the main content area of a post or page. If you’re using the Block Editor you can use a SiteOrigin Layout Block or a SiteOrigin Widget Block. In the Classic Editor, you can click the Page Builder tab next to Visual and Text to get started.

In theme widget areas you can insert SiteOrigin Widgets or a SiteOrigin Layout widget to build a layout.

If there isn’t a page or post content area or a theme widget area, unfortunately, Page Builder can’t help with managing that part of your site. Twenty Seventeen, unfortunately, doesn’t offer a header widget area. One option might be to search for a child theme for Twenty Seventeen that adds a header widget area or even a header text area.

    Hi Andrew,

Thank you so much for your response. I have read a bit about child themes, and unfortunately, I think that’s just a little bit outside of my range of web design comprehension. I will try to find a workaround, and it seems like the two SiteOrigin plug-ins will allow me to find something that works.

Thank you for taking the time to respond.
