Hi,
I have a wordpress website with TheFox theme. After installing the custom CSS plugin, the inspector didn’t seem to work so I deactivated the plugin and then deleted it. But then, my sites menus and submenus didn’t display and my slider and other elements disappeared.
When I install the customCSS again, I can see the site again within the visual inspector interface. But outside this customCSS frame I see the site with errors.
Please help.
Hi David
Sorry to hear about this problem. The inspector not working is usually due to a plugin conflict or a conflict with the theme. I’ll include instructions for finding the conflict below.
Once you’ve deleted SiteOrigin CSS there shouldn’t be any impact on your site. Can you perhaps try deactivating all plugins at once and see if the problems resolve?
For the inspector issue, here are the steps to take:
//
This sounds like it could be a plugin conflict issue. Can you try disabling all non-SiteOrigin plugins and see if this fixes the issue? You’ll need to clear all your caches after disabling your plugins.
If it does fix the issue, then try re-enabling your plugins one by one until the issue comes back. This procedure will help diagnose which plugin is causing the issue.
Once we know that, we’ll be able to look at what might be causing the conflict and either solve the problem or help you find an alternative plugin.
If you aren’t using a SiteOrigin theme, then you can also try temporarily switching to one of the default WordPress themes to see if the issue is theme related.
