Website down after update

9 years ago · Last reply by Greg Priday 9 years ago

My Website is down after updating the Vantage Premium Theme. I get this when trying to access it.
Fatal error: Call to undefined function wp_script_add_data() in /home/macneej/public_html/leanit.co.nz/wp-content/themes/vantage/functions.php on line 362

I also get this error when clicking on the customize under appearance in wordpress.

Fatal error: Class ‘WP_Customize_Media_Control’ not found in /home/macneej/public_html/leanit.co.nz/wp-content/themes/vantage/inc/settings/settings.php on line 547

Please help as this is my business website and it is down. I also think I have premium support, but not sure how to use it.

Thanks
James

    Hi James

Very sorry to hear about that. For premium support, you can send an email to [email protected] and we’ll help out. That’s where you get prioritized support.

As for the fatal errors: from the looks of things you’re using quite an old version of WordPress that didn’t have those functions available. From the theme review guidelines on WordPress.org we’re required to drop support for older versions of WordPress (versions more than 6 months old).

As a general rule, it’s always best to update WordPress before updating your themes and plugins.

If you need help getting your site back online, then drop an email and we’ll get stuck right in.
