Visual Editor Not Working with Page Builder

Visual Editor is not working in page builder. It works in visual editor mode though, just when I try in page builder it will not let me select formatting, text color, etc.. the arrow for example to set text size just goes up and down..

    Thanks Greg! Do you have any idea when this will be? I switched themes, lost some data and now can’t fix it!! Freaking out!

    I’ve fixed this in my development version. I’m just looking around for any other critical issues on the forums. As soon as things look clear, I’ll push the update.

    The editor buttons are working, but now when I hit Done to save it, it just deletes everything I worked on……

    I’m not getting the same issue. That’s a little strange, but it could be a plugin conflict issue. It’s actually very similar to the issue that I made this video about.

    Hi Greg, Everything is working great, except now when I use the visual editor, I can make changes, but when I hit done, it does not save. It works in visual, but not in html mode. When I edit in html mode, the “done” button does nothing. I can then switch to visual but changes in html are lost…

      I am having the exact same issue. When I click “Done” nothing happens and it does not save any changes.

    Also,

    When I try adjusting the page builder column sizes only the right side will adjust. The left side is fixed at 50% on a two column row. I can adjust the right side and it overlays the left side… It does not appear to be working correctly.

    Actually it works with my old theme “Quark” but not when I switch over to my new cyberchimps “radiant” theme…… not sure why!

    Come to think of it, I have seen a similar issue come up with another Cyberchimps theme. Is anyone else who’s getting the same issue also using a Cyberchimps theme? It’s very possible that there’s something in their theme framework that’s conflicting with Page Builder.

    If so, I’ll drop them an email and ask if they can look into it.

    It is definetely only a problem with cyberchimps themes… I tried several of their themes and the problem remains the same. I tried with non cyberchimp themes and it is working fine…

    I am having the same problem as off today since I just upgrade my wordpress server and ran the update on the plugin. It was working perfectly with my theme Acid, but now I just lost a whole page when I tried to change something and it wiped my whole page builder. I have tried to restore an older version, it shows up until I click update and then it’s gone again. I can build the page in the page editor but I need to rebuild the page I have just lost… HELP! Is it conflicting with another plugin? I did just install Shareaholic and I was mid page editing trying to create rollover buttons…. I don’t know what has happened!

    Please can you open a new thread with your query. When you do please try disabling all plugins except for Page Builder and re-trying the issue. If it resolves please enable your plugins one at a time to find the conflict. We’ll see you on the new thread.

    Hi Greg, I talked with Cyberchimps and they stated it is a plugin issue not working with their themes… Do you have any updates on this?

    I’ve done some testing and I can see a Javascript error come up. I heard from the developer of the Visual widget and he’s pushing out some major changes. I’ll also be making some changes to Page Builder to make sure we’re compatible with their new version.

    So let’s see if these updates resolve the issue and take it from there.

    Macro just sent me an email earlier today letting me know about the update and what I’ll need to change in Page Builder. I’ll implement his changes and test everything in the morning. As soon as everything is working we’ll probably give each other the go ahead. Hopefully tomorrow or early next week.

    Hi,

    I have the same issue with PageBuilder 1.4.10 and Black Studio TinyMCE Widget (VisualEditor) 1.3.3. When saving a site, the content of the visual widgets is lost. But only with widgets that have no title. What I’ve also noticed: the sites where i am using the page builder and having these issues, there is no WP revisions panel anymore. Maybe this helps for bugfixing.

    It would be great if you could resolve this issue the next few days. I love your plugin and I’m using it in several websites! :)

    Hi again,
    this has (unlike in my last comment written) nothing to do with empty titles or missing revisions. When there is complex html code in the widget, the content is lost on saving. When there are only paragraphs and headlines (simple html) all is fine. Curious… :)

    By the way: You can prevent this issue if there is content in the regular WP “visual” or “text” tab. If these both are empty (and only content with pagebuilder tab is entered), then the widget content ist lost.

      It’s possible that you’re having the Social Network Auto Poster conflict issue. If you have this plugin installed can you deactivate it and see if the issue goes away? If not, can you start a new thread and we’ll help you there.

        no, I don’t have this plugin installed. I’ve also tested a complete new installation with WP 3.9, Pagebuilder 1.4.10 and Black Studio TinyMCE Widget (VisualEditor) 1.3.3. No other plugins. Problem still occurs (widget content is lost) if the default WP content editor is empty and you are saving the page after editing one of the pagebuilder/visual editor widgets with complex html content…

    Hi spinin.

    Please check that you’ve upgraded Page Builder to it’s most recent version, check under Dashboard > Updates.

    Once installed the Black Studio TinyMCE is called the Visual Editor, are you inserting that and not the Text widget?

    thanks for the update! Unfortunately it’s not working for me. :( Problem still occurs, preview is not working (content of visual editor widget is not shown) and sometimes the content of these widgets is totally lost. Not so good… Maybe the content is getting lost when WP makes an automatic update (revision)… I don’t know.

    Is there any chance that you will fix this soon? I really like this plugin and we are using it for several customers. If i should open a separate topic for my problem, please let me know.

    Please head to Dashboard > Updates and make sure everything has been updated. Then, try disabling all plugins except for Page Builder and Black Studio and see if the problem persists.

    Hi Andrew,
    thank you for the quick reply! Everything is updated (WP 3.9, PageBuilder 1.4.11, Black Studio TinyMCE Widget 1.3.3), all plugins are deactivated (except PB and BSTMW) and I’m using standard Twenty Fourteen theme)… but still not working! :(

    It occurs when I’m pasting rich html content (for example copy & paste a table) into the visual editor widget and then clicking “Done” and then clicking on the WP preview button => the widget is not shown in preview mode. Same when pressing the publish button and showing the page. Sometimes, especially when I’m opening the visual editor widget, clicking on “Done” (without changing anything) and then leaving the edit page without saving, the widget content gets lost. It’s gone the next time I want to edit the page. Other widgets are still present. No JS errors shown in console window (on editing, or clicking any buttons).

    Can’t you reproduce that problem?

    Hi Greg/Andrew,

    Same problem here – cannot edit/format text on my homepage (but can do on other pages).
    Even if I switch off “Customize”.
    I also find the web builder very confusing, aligning 2 pictures almost impossible with division of the space with rows.
    Am I doing something wrong or do I need to upgrade to premium?

    Hi Karolina

    Your home page should be editable under Appearance > Home Page if that feature is turned ON.

    For image alignment try using the Visual Editor widget which has an Add Media Button: http://wordpress.org/plugins/black-studio-tinymce-widget/
