Visual editor… not so visual

Hello Guys & Girls,

I have got to the end of my tether now… After scouring the various threads and help pages I can’t seem to resolve my issue with Visual Editor. I’m using SiteOrigin’s Vantage Premium, the problem im having is an absence of visible text and editing tools within the editor.

Actions taken so far…
I have uninstalled and reinstalled the following plugins to no avail: SiteOrigin page builder & Black Studio TinyMCE Widget.
Reverted back to WordPress 4.1 which didn’t resolve the issue so updated back to 4.2.2.
Deactivated all plugins (excluding page builder and tinyMCE) which did not resolve problem.
Deleted browser history and cache in my browser (Chrome).
Used alternative browser (IE)

I’m hoping I have just missed something really simple like an unchecked box but I’t is rather frustrating now as I spent days trying to figure out what might be wrong to no avail. I have attached a link to a screenshot of what the issue is.

Any ideas or help in layman’s terms would be greatly appreciated, as I’m not the most technically minded :-)

Kind Regards, Hayden

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Hayden

Would it be possible for you to create a temporary admin account for us so we can log in and take a look? You can create the account with the following email address:

    [email protected]

Just navigate to Users > Add New in your WordPress admin. Enter siteorigin for the username and [email protected] for the email address. Make sure you’ve selected Administrator for the role and enabled the “Send Password” field so we receive the details.

Once we’re finished taking a look, you can delete this account. We’ll let you know when to do that.

    Thanks

    Magus

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Hayden

I have had a look and found that it is not only the Black Studio editor that is not working correctly, the WordPress TinyMCE is not working either. I have refreshed the installation of WordPress to rule out any issues with the core files and switched to a default theme to rule out any issues with the theme.

There are a few possible causes for this issue and I’ll go through them in order.

    1. A removed plugin has left files behind. Please check the wp-content/plugins folder via FTP and ensure that the only folders listed are those for currently installed plugins. If there are any others please remove them.

    2. If 1 does not work please edit the wp-config.php file and add the following directly after the opening php tag.

    define('CONCATENATE_SCRIPTS', false);

    3. if 2 does not work then please remove the entry placed in the wp-config.php file and contact your web host. Issues in the PHP configuration have been known to cause this issue.

Let us know how you get on

Magus you are a Diamond! It was the second option that did the trick. Thank you so much!
