Video Widget is showing related videos from Youtube at the end.

10 years ago · Last reply by MichelleEdward 9 years ago

Hello,

I was wondering if there was a setting I am missing.

I am using the SiteOrigin video widget and I put in the URL of the Externally hosted video (Youtube)

The videos shows perfectly. :) However, when I watch it to the end, related videos ‘pop-up’.

I have several sites I have built recently and they all have video using the plug-in.

Do I need to ’embed’ them instead (ugh!) or is there a setting I am missing (yay! :-)) ?

Thanks so much for your help.

Michelle

    Hi MichelleEdward

The current URL to your video is

    http://www.youtube.com/embed/41KpBtggb3M?feature=oembed

    Please try changing this to

    http://www.youtube.com/embed/41KpBtggb3M?feature=oembed&rel=0

Let us know how you get on

    Hey Magnus,

I added the ?feature=oembed&rel=0 to the end of the video in the widget and unfortunately it did not work. :(

I went ahead and just used a text widget instead and embedded the videos that way. :)

Oh well, the video widget is very cool… but Im afraid didn’t quite work out for this application.

    Thanks for your help,
    Michelle

PS I’m not sure if the autoplay feature is working either because my Safari browser sometimes has an energy saver… but I couldn’t get it to auto play for me.

    Hi Michelle

Apologies, this was an issue which we addressed in the last update to the widget. Please try adding the video to the video widget again, set to external source and disable the oembed option, but leave autoplay on.

This should autoplay the video and not show any related videos at the end.

Let us know how you get on

    Hello Again,

I have made several attempts to find the solution for this and still have not been able to successfully find the answer.

I’m am wanting to use a video player rather than an iframe on the home pages of my sites. I have tried many different configurations.. putting youtube videos in the player and it still shows the related videos when the video is finished playing.

    Is there a solution?

    THanks for your help,
    Michelle
