Vantage theme: Creating a different language version of the site.

Hi – and thanks for the great Vantage theme. Love it.

But having issues creating a second language version of the site – tried Polylang plugin and others but they seem to throw out the theme settings / the new home page wants go to www.url.com/es/ and I can’t seem to get the home (static) page to show up anywhere except www.url.com.

I’m not on multisite.

Any advice would be awesome.
