Vantage: Creating Pages that don’t automatically go to Header Navigation bar

I’m trying to figure out how to create a page and not have it automatically show up in the header navigation bar. I’d just like to have standalone pages I can link to as opposed to being a child or parent page. What’s the easiest way to do this?

    Hi wcase

    Thanks for reaching out.

Head to Appearance > Menus and create a custom menu. Assign it to the theme’s primary menu location. Ensure that the setting that automatically adds top level pages to the menu is not checked.

    Hope that helps.

    Andrew

Thanks for the message, it did help. I have a follow up question, though:

I should clarify that I’m fine with the current menu and its contents, but at this point would like to add pages that don’t need to be included in it. In that case, should I just un-check the “automatically add top level pages to the menu” box in my existing menu and from now on just add to menu on a case by case basis? This is probably pretty straight forward but I just wanted to clarify. Thanks.

Exactly. Un-check that setting and add pages as required. You got it.
