I allowed today’s Widgets Bundle update. The update was unsuccessful because something couldn’t be removed. But now all of the Widgets Bundle has disappeared and cannot be reinstalled.

Please help. Thanks

update: In order to get my site back to its original state and restore the plug-in, I’m installing the back-up to my site.
The matter is still urgent as I have built a lot of it using SiteOrigin Widgets bundle.
Hi Kimberley
It’s rare, but this can happen occasionally when there’s an issue with the WordPress update system. If you restore a backup, then you can try doing the update again.
If that fails, then it’s possible a file/folder in the Widgets Bundle directory was locked somehow. You can try deleting the old version of Widgets Bundle using FTP. Log in to your site’s FTP server, navigate to wp-content/plugins and delete the so-widgets-bundle folder. Next, install a fresh copy of Widgets Bundle. You can download that here.
Hi Greg,
Thanks for answering quickly. I’ve first restored my site and will go try to fix the issue in the morning (my provider does back-ups about 3-4 times daily. The next one is due between 11-12 pm, that way I won’t lose too any new content)
Hi Greg,
I followed your instructions and the update was successful.
Now I just have to straighten out any layouts that were effected.
Thanks,
Regards
Kim
