Undo a Custom CSS that was added or get back to the original theme files

Hello, I am using Vantage and very new, I made a dumb mistake and did not create a Child Theme for this. I added the following:

.home #masthead{
display:none;
}

without realizing it would not only get rid of the header area, but it also got rid of the menu bar. I would like to get the menu bar back. How can I locate the above command and undo it?

    Hi Pat

    If you used a Custom CSS plugin it’ll most like have a menu item under Appearance. Either Appearance > Custom CSS or Appearance > Edit CSS.

    The following snippet will hide only the masthead:

    /* Vantage Hide Masthead Not Including Menu */
    header#masthead .hgroup { display: none; }

    I used Custom CSS to add the code: and when I go back to Custom CSS the code is still LIsted there:

    .home #masthead{
    display:none;
    }

    But I need to undo the code, How can I reverse / remove the Code?

    Thank you for your time.

    For sure. Just click in the Custom CSS window and backspace with your keyboard. It’s the same as remove text from a page.

    oh, Gotcha,,, That did it. Thank you..
    I want to upgrade to Premium, should I do that first and then create child theme, or does it matter?

    Thanks for your help.

    No problem. It doesn’t matter when you create a child theme. Before or after upgrading is fine. Just keep in mind that you don’t need a child theme if you only plan to alter CSS. Changed CSS selectors can be kept under Appearance > Custom CSS in Vantage Premium. A child theme is only needed if you plan on directly editing theme files at a code level.
