Unable to Comment on Blog Posts – Unwind Theme

9 years ago · Last reply by Nadine Tomlinson 9 years ago

Hi! A blogger contacted me today after she was unable to comment on my latest blog post.

When I tried to comment myself, I got a 127.0.0.1 refused to connect message. I contacted my hosting provider, who advised that the error wasn’t due to a server issue. They added that I should contact the theme developer.

Please assist in determining the cause of this issue and resolving it as soon as possible.

Kind regards,

Nadine Tomlinson

    Hi Nadine

This sounds like it could be a plugin conflict issue. Can you try disabling all non-SiteOrigin plugins and see if this fixes the issue? You’ll need to clear all your caches after disabling your plugins.

If it does fix the issue, then try re-enabling your plugins one by one until the issue comes back. This procedure will help diagnose which plugin is causing the issue.

Once we know that, we’ll be able to look at what might be causing the conflict and either solve the problem or help you find an alternative plugin.

You can also try temporarily switching to one of the default WordPress themes to see if the issue is theme related.

    Hi Greg,

Thanks for your prompt response. Appreciate the recommendations.

I’m concerned about disabling the security plugins, so I think I’ll omit them from the troubleshooting process. Will let you know if the issue becomes resolved.

In the meantime, I’m using a comment plugin.

    Thanks for your help.

    Kind regards,

    Nadine
