    If you’re inserting a header background image from Appearance > Customize > Page > Masthead Background Image, then the following inserted under Appearance > Custom CSS will center and no-repeat:

    /* Masthead Background */

header#masthead {
background-position: center;
background-repeat: no-repeat;
}
