Hi,
Some of the sub pages on https://camincam.si use image sliders. When the page/s load for the first time there’s a huge empty space between the slider and the text that should be just below the images. Navigation arrows appear on that space. After slider moves to the next image that space disappears. It happened on main page a couple of times but never fails on pages under menu Software (i.e. Verisurf, Mastercam, Robotmaster, Cimco).
I’ve tried everything that I could think of but so far, nothing worked and so I’m turning to you for help.
Any and all suggestions will be much appreciated!
Best,
aomikron
Hi aomikron
Thanks for reaching out.
I’ve seen the issue but can’t reliably replicate it at the moment. It might be assets like necessary CSS for the slider taking a long time to load. Does the issue persist if you temporarily deactivate all SiteOrigin plugins?
I haven’t tried that but the slider is an element of a page, built with SiteOrigin Page Builder and is made with SiteOrigin Slider.. so, if I disable plugins, it probably won’t show at all…
You mentioned it happens on the home page, I can see the issue on the home page too. The first/main slider on the home page doesn’t appear to be a SiteOrigin slider unless I’ve missed something.
Correct, Andrew, the slider on the home page is an element of the template. Everything was working perfectly okay until all of a sudden – it wasn’t. I’m really lost here… I disabled SiteOrigin Widget Bundle and besides the fact that most of the site disappears the problem with the home page slider still persists…
Thanks for trying to help!
That’s some progress. If the issue persists with all SiteOrigin plugins deactivated then you’ve ruled out this issue being caused by SiteOrigin. Next, I recommend temporarily deactivating all plugins, if you’re using a caching plugin, clear it first. Does the issue persist? That’ll let you know if it’s a plugin conflict. If the issue persists with all plugins deactivated then you know it’s a theme issue. If you get to that point, ideally, theme support would take a look and hopefully lend a hand.
Alright, thank you. I’ll have a go with the plugins and see how that works.
Discovered the culprit – it was lazy load in Smush plugin! Thank you for your help, Andrew!
Cheers!
Awesome, really glad to hear you’ve made progress. Thanks for keeping us updated :) Cheers for now.
