Themes with sliders that use images and other questions

By headofrock, 10 years ago. Last reply by Andrew Misplon, 10 years ago.

I’m rather new to WordPress, websites, blogging and definitely a novice at almost all things computer.

This regards the Vantage and Pitch themes.

I want a slider that I can uses images. Just images not tied to a post in anyway. I would really love a slider that I can use different images on each page. It would also be nice to be able to make the images link to something if I want to.

I want to be able to index and archive blog posts, not just have them running down the page forever. Both of these appear to do that but is it an easy to use choose and click thing or is coding required?

Page Builder — does it require me being able to code to use it? The only thing I know about coding is that somebody else will have to do it for me.

I want to be able to use a nice contact form, a review and testimonial plugin. Do these themes play well with others? I’ve tried a couple plugins that looked great seemed to be just what I was looking for only to have them just not work at all. Not sure if it was plugin, my theme or both or in the words of Jimmy Buffett “hell it could be my fault”.

Do not have an issue with any SiteOrigin themes. Just trying to determine if Vantage or Pitch is going to replace the Weebly one I am using now. Which brings up… the Weebly site was built specifically to be viewed on mobile devices. I do not like how it is put together and want to change it.

Thanks in advance for the guidance.
Christian

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Christian

On pretty much all counts Vantage is a better theme to go with, it’s much newer than Pitch.

Slider: Rather go with Vantage, Meta Slider integration is flexible in comparison to built in Pitch slider.

Blog Posts: Both themes should be able to do what you want there. You can control how many posts display per page under Settings > Reading. You could also use Page Builder to insert a Post Loop widget for more control.

Page Builder: No coding is required. Our overview video is worth a watch: https://siteorigin.com/page-builder/documentation/.

Contact Form: Free: Contact Form 7, could also try Ninja Forms. Premium: Gravity Forms. Testimonials – we do have a Page Builder widget you could use. Unfortunately don’t have a plugin to recommend at this time. Also don’t have a review plugin to recommend unfortunately. Let us know how you come along in that regard.

Overall I’d recommend giving Vantage a try over Pitch.
