Hello!
I’ve got a problem with the Theme Setting for “Influence”.
After updating the Home Slide Section with another picture for my slideshow the plugin wouldn’t browse propably – every time when I am trying to re-connect with the plugin, the browser keeps working until I get a time out.
I’ve tried to connect with another computer and some other browsers (Chrome, Safari) and already thought a new start of my own computer would help to solve the problem. But still … I can’t re-open the Theme Setting Section. Any idea? I deleted some old plugins, too.
Well …
And can I use the Slide Show on simple Pages as well? Or is that just a gadget for the Home-Site?
When I use the “SiteOrigin Widgets” the Slide Show will just appear in the content of the page, but not on top of the site or in full size, so I wondered if it’s even possible.
Thanks for help!
And best regards
Hi Eva
Thanks for running Influence. Please try running through the steps outlined here:
https://siteorigin.com/troubleshooting/identifying-plugin-conflicts/
Our SiteOrigin slider tutorial can be found here: https://siteorigin.com/widgets-bundle/slider-widget-documentation/. You can run a 100% width slider.
If you have our Widget Bundle installed along with our Page Builder plugin, then you can insert the slider widget into any Page Builder page.
Our Page Builder tutorial video can be found here: https://siteorigin.com/page-builder/documentation/
Hi Andrew! Thanks a lot for your reply (although it’s been a while).
I needed some time to check the installation again and now I know the issue – but I’ve got no solution for it (-:
I installed Influence again, for it’s a great theme, and was just about to run the Page-Slider when the problem from above accured again: every time I want to open Theme Settings I’m getting an error-message or a time out from my browser.
Now that the currently project is just new I removed every single plugin I installed so far and tested the system again. As it occured there’s indeed a plugin conflict, but with no other plugin than “SiteOrigin Widgets Bundle” which I obviously need to run the Theme Settings. Well, that’s just great.
I removed both the plugin and the theme-installation *again* and tried it maybe for three more times but the problem is just the same: every time I wanna run the Bundle I get an error message when clicking on Theme Settings.
Any idea how to fix this? I couldn’t find anything helpful so far.
And there’s more now: Influence was updated, wasn’t it?
I couldn’t set the breadcrumb-plugin. I *can* set the code in the Editor-Section of the Theme though, but I get no result on the Front-End. It simply doesn’t work. Did you do something to avoid coding in the Editor-Section with the new Update of the Theme?
It would be most kind if you could help me out again.
Thx so much!
Eva.
Forget the Breadcrumb-Issue. Got that fixed (-:
Now I just need the Slider-Setting to be working. Btw: the problem increases when I activate “Page Builder” but I have no idea where this could be come from.
Hi Eva
Apologies for the delays here.
Perhaps email through a temporary set of login details through to [email protected]. Please include a link to this thread in your email. We get a lot of mail so please don’t send the details via an automated WordPress automated email.
I’ll take a look ASAP. Hopefully a little later on tonight.
Hi Andrew!
Thx for your reply, done that.

Should be up now:

You had a shortcode entered on the home page under Pages in the slider sidebar metabox. The home page slider shortcode for the slider created under Theme Settings can only be set from Theme Settings.
We realise this is confusing and are working to improve it.
Oh you are fantastic!
Thank you! :D
For sure, glad we could help.
Hello again! :-)
Now after everything was fine for a long time, I did an Update for the Site Original Widget Bundle … and lost my Slider on the Homepage again. I don’t have any clue why, because we didn’t do much changes on the settings so far.
Same Website, same problem.
Maybe you can help me out again, that would be just fine!
Thank you
Please don’t wonder.
I just placed a header-picture as placeholder.
I also tried to set back the update (I’ve got a BackUp from the last Version of the Bundle).
But that didn’t work either.
Is there anything I simply don’t get?
Hi Eva
Would it be possible for you to create a temporary admin account for us so we can log in and take a look? You can create the account with the following email address:
[email protected]
Just navigate to Users > Add New in your WordPress admin. Enter siteorigin for the username and [email protected] for the email address. Make sure you’ve selected Administrator for the role and enabled the “Send Password” field so we receive the details.
Once we’re finished taking a look, you can delete this account. We’ll let you know when to do that.
Thx Andrew! Password should’ve been sent directly to you :-)
Thanks :) Details haven’t come through yet. Any chance you could insert them here and use the Private Reply checkbox below the comment field?
This is a private message.
Thanks :)
The problem was a video row added in each frame with no video inside. It’s a mistake on our part. We’ll correct in the next Widgets Bundle version. Apologies for the hassle. I’ve deleted the video rows and the slider is displaying correctly.
Thank you Andrew! :D
For sure :) Glad we could help. Thanks for your understanding.
All the best.
