Theme discontinued, is my problem solved when i buy PageBuilder?

Hi,

I’m working on sijthoff-leiden.nl. The theme i use for a while now has stopped. After updating WordPress, Pagebuilder doesn’t work anymore. When i want to adjust a page i get a blank Pagebuilder screen. is my problem solved when i buy pagebuilder directly here?

Thanks in advance!

    Hi Sanne,

According to your markup, you’re using a very old version of SiteOrigin Page Builder (1.5.4. the latest version is 2.5.10). As a result, SiteOrigin Premium isn’t actually compatible with your website so I wouldn’t recommend purchasing it at this time.

Instead (at least at the moment), I would recommend looking at upgrading SiteOrigin Page Builder and other SiteOrigin plugins. Before doing anything further, however, I would do a backup just in case things don’t play well together.

    Hi,

Thanks for your reply. But i’m using 2.5.1 as far as i can tell…

    Any other options?

    Hi Sanne

This sounds like it could be a plugin conflict issue. Can you try disabling all non-SiteOrigin plugins and see if this fixes the issue? You’ll need to clear all your caches after disabling your plugins.

If it does fix the issue, then try re-enabling your plugins one by one until the issue comes back. This procedure will help diagnose which plugin is causing the issue.

Once we know that, we’ll be able to look at what might be causing the conflict and either solve the problem or help you find an alternative plugin.

If you aren’t using a SiteOrigin theme, then you can also try temporarily switching to one of the default WordPress themes to see if the issue is theme related.

    Hi,

I was in the proces of doing disabling and stuff, but with the wordpress update to 4.8.1 problem is solved… Now there is a notification in the text widget (see image in dutchScreenshot of message about widget); it says as much as “”‘this widget can contain code which works better in the new ‘Own HTML – widget’. What would you think of using that widget?”.

Maybe of any use for you?
    Thanks for support!

    Hi Sanne,

That’s a (now) standard message you’ll see when you open a text widget with HTML present. The Custom HTML widget is basically the same as the old text widget and there’s nothing wrong with using it. In fact, if you’re working with a large amount of HTML, you should use it over the text widget.
