i don’t know how it happen but it stuck i try to get into the bar of home page and it keeps thinking and not doing much… how can overcome it?
Hi saun al
Please try the instructions I left on the other thread you posted on and let us know how it goes.
For reference, the steps to resolve this can be found here: https://siteorigin.com/troubleshooting/identifying-plugin-conflicts/.
i tried it but it didn’t do anything
what i did last was that i entered a embed video and saved it ever since then i had this problem
can you help me ?
thanks
Run through this list:
1. Is WordPress upgraded to 4.0?
2. Is Page Builder upgraded to 1.5.3?
3. Did you de-activate all plugins besides Page Builder at once?
4. Try switching themes to a default theme like Twenty Fourteen and re-checking.
1. no
2. yes
3.yes but it didn’t do anything
4.i tried it too but nothing fixed it…
Are you able to access your home page via Pages > Home and then click on the Page Builder tab?
yes but it won’t show anything i set with the plugin on there
i mean when i try to go to appeariance>home page. it stuck and i can’t see anything only the turning cyrcle
but when i click on the edit as page option it direct me to the simple text editor of the page
Does this problem repeat if you create a new page and work in Page Builder?
Ok so to confirm, at Pages > Home you can’t see a Page Builder tab? If so, this is almost certainly a plugin conflict. Do you have:
Comprehensive Google Maps
CK Editor
Installed?
You’re positive you’ve de-activated all of your plugins and then re-checked for that tab at Pages > Home?
no at other pages i can build with the page builder the problem is only on my home page
it all began when i put a embed video link on the home page and then it stuck
So from here I would create a new page and test whether you can insert that same widget again without the problem repeating. If you can then I’d create a new page, clone your old home page and then delete it. So basically re-create your home page.
it would be great
how can we do it?
The top left paintbrush icon is Prebuilt layouts, you can clone from there and see if the problem occurs again with a home copy. If it doesn’t you can then assign that as your new home page from Settings > Reading. Just make the page template on that page Full Width, No Page Title or Page Builder Home.
now i see that i can’t even do that because there is no page builder on the bar in the home page
what can i do to return the page before it began to make the problems?
Please send through a temporary set of login details and your url through to [email protected] and we’ll take a look as soon as possible. Please include a link back to this thread in that email. Thanks.
login details of what? my wp site?
Yes please.
ok i will
i sent it… do you know when can you fix it approximately?
I can take a look now. I unfortunately can’t say when this will be resolved though.
ohh i hope it will be asap but thanks if you can look at it maybe you can solve it quicker
thanks and please let me know if you succeed or not, it would be great ,
thank you again
Please update to WordPress 4.0. The issue should resolve. Thanks.
you think this is all about the wordpress update?
I do yes. You can run pre-WordPress 4.0 but then you’ll need to roll Page Builder back to 1.5.1.
Update WP and all should be well.
i did it now but it didn’t solve it… i think it’s a bigger problem then this one
I’m unfortunately unable to resolve right now. The problem is certainly unique, not one we’ve seen before. I’ll need to consult on this. We’ll come back to you as soon as possible tomorrow. We’re at GMT+2.
ok then thank you very much for trying, please be in touch
thanks
For sure. We’ll be with you as soon as possible.
Any news about the bug fix? I need to continue building it,
if you can update me with this one i will be thankful
Andrew can i get your response my friend?
Apologies for the delay Saun, I’ll be with you shortly.
Thank you very much Andrew :)
hello? is there anybody home?
Andrew please update me on things i have to continue updating my site
Please help me asap
Hi. I sent through an email in response to the login details you previously sent.
i see… ok thanks but maybe if i will show you the errors i get,
That will be helpful to fix the problems…
can i show you the errors i get?
and if i choose to re-install the wordpress will it stay with the same details that i left it with?
Right now we see one Javascript error on each page/post. We’re unfortunately unable to locate the source based on this error read out. If a plugin has modified core files it is our belief that the issue will be resolved with a WordPress re-install.
The method outlined here: http://www.wpbeginner.com/wp-tutorials/how-to-manually-update-wordpress-using-ftp/ won’t cause any data loss and involves replacing the core files.
ok thank you i will try that hopefully it will help
Hope it does too. Let us know how you come along here.
i tried to re-install the version 4 of wordpress but still no change of anything…
:/
Ok so that leaves Page Builder and Vantage. Let’s try re-installing Page Builder. Make a backup first from Tools > Export. Then delete the plugin and re-install it. Data will be restored. The backup is there just in case.
but then all the info on my site will be lost right?
You data will be safe. Just make a backup first as indicated above.
i did a backup now you say that i should delete the vangate and page builder plugins and re-install them again
Let’s just start with de-activating Page Builder, deleting it and then re-installing it.
did it… still nothing new…
And to confirm, all plugins besides Page Builder are de-activated?
Please try switching over to a default theme like Twenty Fourteen and see if there is any change.
before it had the bug i entered this script link on the embed video option on widgets :
<!–
and then it was stuck
it won’t post here the script i put but i can try
script type=”text/javascpt” src=”http://dailyincomenetwork.evsuite.com/player/ZXotcHJvZml0LWZvcm11bGEteW91dHViZS0x/?responsive=1&autoResponsive=1&container=evp-TC5UZ3BFQX”>
I know you mentioned this way way back so my bad if this turns out to be the problem. Can you try posting that again, you just need to wrap it in square brackets open code tag and then square brackets close code tag. See just below the comment box.
ohh ok
should i delete vantage theme too? or can it done differently?
It could be possible that the lack of a closing comment tag (the comment
ok Andrew i really appreciate your help
any news Andrew?
Hi Saun. Ok, so everything looks normal except for the home page. What I’d suggest is deleting that page and rebuilding it from scratch. The video widget should be hardened against what happened but it appears the script inserted has caused a Javascript break. It looks like there might have been both an open comment and an open div inserted into the widget (the widget unfortunately isn’t built for a script to inserted – shouldn’t have broken though). So my suggestion is to just copy your written content to notepad and then re-build the home page. Everything should return to normal then.
how can i do that?
Turn Appearance > Home Page OFF then delete the home page and the draft home page like you would a normal page from Pages >
ummm but i can’t turn it off because it’s stuck
See if you can delete both home pages from Pages.
ok i trushed it
Let me know if you need any further assistance moving forward.
is there any option to delete the existing script that bugged the home page and it will fix this problem?
The database entry for that page could perhaps be edited, this isn’t something I’ve done before so I can’t advise on that without a consult. We’re unfortunately short staffed at the moment so that might take some time. In light of this my recommendation would be delete and re-build the home page. It’s also a potentially safer and more straight forward fix.
but how can i make it the home page? when i open a new page it shows me a link like this url mentorsysetms.com/home-6 i want it to be called mentorssystems.com and that’s it… how can i do that?
Create a new page, call it Home, assign the Full Width, No Page Title template. Save it. Next go to Settings > Reading and assign that page as your static home page. That should resolve the above.
ok thanks man
For sure, hope that helps.
it did thanks :)
Andrew can you recommend me a widget that works good with siteorigin?
To insert that script? You could try:
https://wordpress.org/plugins/enhanced-text-widget/
Just ensure the widget is closed off properly. So if it has a comment tag around it then it must be opened and close like this:
Perhaps just confirm the script content from the source.
no i’m talking about the embed or even a youtube links
Embedded Video widget (PB) but just use the YouTuvbe or Vimeo link.
Or use the full embed code with a widget like the Text widget.
and any other widget will be not compatible with siteorigin?
Not really following you there. You can try any widget you’d like there. Most plugins are compatible.
ohh ok then i see what you mean…
If you have a plugin you’d like to try just give it a go and see how it works.
ok i will hopefully it won’t make a bug again :D
Just don’t insert scripts into anything other than the Text, Enhanced Text or Visual Editor (Black Studio) widgets.
i have download that plugin: Black Studio TinyMCE Widget
but i don’t know how to turn it into a video because it shows only the link i put on my site
If you’re embedding a video with the Visual Editor widget then you’d need to insert the entire embed code provided by YouTube or similar. You can only use the video link, just the link, if you’re using the Embedded Video widget.
ohhh i see…
ok it helped a lot man thanks
For sure.
