Some plugins not working with theme?

By rothkevin, 9 years ago. Last reply by Andrew Misplon, 9 years ago.

Hello,

I am unsure if this issue is related to the theme or to some other area, but the plugin developers asked me to check with theme support just to make sure.

about a week ago a weird bug started happening on my website in which the meta-slider doesn’t advance to the next image and the arrows are not appearing, same thing with the posts slider. In fact i checked with other plugins that use javascript and its the same – not working.

I tried uninstalling the plugin and reinstalling, but no luck. The issue was fixed by recovering the site to an earlier backup version but it started occurring again within days unexpectedly. I have updated all the plugins including the theme and nothing worked. I also tried disabling all plugins and enabling only the meta slider and it didn’t work. Any ideas?

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Rothkevin

    Thanks for reaching out.

We’ve had a single other report of this. The issue seemed to resolve itself after a plugin conflict test was run. No cause was found.

Can we perhaps take a look? Instructions to follow.

    Hi, I Work Here

Would it be possible for you to create a temporary admin account for us so we can log in and take a look? You can create the account with the following email address:

    [email protected]

Just navigate to Users > Add New in your WordPress admin. Enter siteorigin for the username and [email protected] for the email address. Make sure you’ve selected Administrator for the role and enabled the “Send Password” field so we receive the details.

Once we’re finished taking a look, you can delete this account. We’ll let you know when to do that.

    Hi, I Work Here

Thanks. I tested this page: http://manases.org/testing-ms/ with just Meta Slider and Twenty Fifteen theme running. The issue persists. Can you perhaps try creating a new slider and see if there is any difference?

    Hi, I Work Here

So to confirm. If we remove everything else, the problem persists. Next step is to try creating a new slider. If that fails. please, try opening a support thread with Meta Slider, hopefully they can shed some light on this.

Yeah the problem may be related to something else because the post slider is also not working, even when turning off all other plugins. I tried creating a new slider and changing it on theme settings but the problem still persists. I will try to contact Meta Slider support again, hopefully they don’t send me back here lol.

    Hello,

upon checking with the plugin developers they told me that jQuery is missing from the site and required in order for the plugin to work properly. They asked me to locate the original theme version of it and add it back. But i’m not sure how to do that? I don’t want to just replace the old files with new ones because i did make some changes to the css in order to match my website style.. any ideas?

    thanks for the help.

Update: Downloading a plugin called: “jQuery Updater” seems to have fixed it.
