SiteOrigin Page Builder parallax effect – best practice

Hi there,
thanks again for that wonderful plugin, the more I work with it, the more useful features I can find. I was working on a site that requires parallax scrolling for some elements on the site and I stumbled across the build in feature of Page Builder to add parallax scrolling to the row. I was able to add background images and see an effect rather quickly, but I can’t quite get there where I want to go with it.

If you check out the website (I’ll post it as a private answer right after this) you can see two elements on the site that are supposed to move on scroll vertically and eventually hide (maybe not completely, but a good portion, they should just move a certain amount to have a nice effect) under another element. I tried many different sizes (full width, only the element itself, twice as high, twice the total resolution,…) and also regular and original size backgrounds, but they either move only very little (like the top one) or have odd behaviour when resizing the browser.

To illustrate what I want to achieve:

So the main question is: Which is the best size or setting for a left and right aligned background image to scroll at a good speed/distance? Do I need to make it much higher than the row it is displayed in or is there a general rule of thumb to follow?

Best regards,
M

I’m almost happy with the effect on the lower row, but it is using the original size which is a bit too big, when I go back to regular/scaled the effect is very little. So again, I would need to rescale the image to double the size and keep the element as it is to get closer to what I want, thus this question.

    Cheers and thanks in advance!

Apparently adminize doesn’t hide the url, can the last post be made private? I don’t see that anywhere and there’s also no edit feature (or am I not seeing it either?)

    Best regards,
