Site Origin widget bundle stops Customizer working

I am creating a site using GeneratePress theme but with your Pagebuilder plugin in and also your widget bundle. All was going OK until a few days ago when I attempted to save a new widget to a sidebar on the home page. All I got was the little wheel going round in the middle of the screen. So I cancelled the save but I have had problems getting Customizer to load since.

I was advised to deactivate all plugins and activate each individually to see which might be causing the problem. It urns out to be the Site Origin widget package. I deleted the package, in case the file had become corrupted, and reloaded. Same result.

There is no problem with PHP memory limits on my host server and they have checked for errors – none.

I am wasting so much time on this. I see from other threads that others appear to be experiencing similar problems getting Customizer to load. What is the answer?

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Mharvey

We are looking into this issue. At the moment it’s quite strange because different things seem to be causing the issue for different users.

Would it be possible for you to create a temporary admin account for us so we can log in and take a look at your situation? You can create the account with the following email address:

    [email protected]

Just navigate to Users > Add New in your WordPress admin. Enter siteorigin for the username and [email protected] for the email address. Make sure you’ve selected Administrator for the role and enabled the “Send Password” field so we receive the details.

Once we’re finished taking a look, you can delete this account. We’ll let you know when to do that.

Sorry not to have responded before now – I have been away.
Yes, Greg, I can create a temporary admin, if required, but at the moment the Customizer appears to be working OK with the widget bundle activated.Let me know if you still want access.

I have had a communication from Tom Usborne of GeneratePress in which he states that there is a ‘ bug with the Widget Bundle plugin: http://generatepress.com/forums/topic/customize-options-do-not-charge/#post-106670 ‘ If you follow that link it identifies that the Google Maps widget is the problem, as the previous post suggests.

I find that widget one of the most useful – simple to use and really does the job – so it would be great if you could fix it. I have, however, created two maps withe widget which seem to work OK.

I’d be grateful if you’d let me know if you have fixed this problem in the last two days and that’s why it seesm to be working OKon my site.

    Many thanks for your help

    Hi, I Work Here

Thanks for the link. I’ve dropped in a reply asking for the error message which would be a huge help in fixing the issue. Hopefully Tom will be able to help us out. We’ll get a hotfix release out as soon as we can identify what’s going wrong.
