Site Origin Error

3 years ago · Last reply by Andrew Misplon 3 years ago

Our website has crashed, and it’s come up with the below error:

SITE ORIGIN PAGE BUILDER NEWS
There has been a critical error on your website. Please check your site admin email inbox for instructions.

It doesn’t indicate what the problem is but im guessing it may be a plug in?

Please can someone help as this has crashed the whole website!

    Hi Isobel

    Thanks for reaching out.

When the issue occurs, you can enable WP_DEBUG in your WordPress wp-config.php file to find out more about the issue:

    https://wordpress.org/support/article/debugging-in-wordpress/

Alternatively, you can switch to a default theme like Twenty Nineteen and temporarily deactivate all plugins except for those plugins authored by SiteOrigin. Assuming a working baseline can be found, you can then reactivate your theme and plugins one by one to locate the cause of the problem. Enabling WP_DEBUG and WP_DEBUG_LOG via FTP or Hosting File Manager would be the best option.

    Hi Andrew,

Thank you for replying to this. I sent a new support request:

Our website http://www.u-trak.co.uk<http://www.u-trak.co.uk/> has plug ins from your site and it recently crashed due to our domain site updating to PHP 8.0. But the site doesn't seem to be compatible with this and I wanted to ask if any of the plug ins your site provides doesn't work with this version? The site has currently been reverted back to PHP 7.4 but this version expires on the 28th November 2022 so this will cause our site to crash again.

Please can I ask if you can check if our plug ins on our site need any form of updates or new versions? As I have updated all the current ones we have, but are they compatible with PHP 8.0? The domain site is one.com if this helps.

    Please let me know.

    Thank you.

    Kind regards,

    Isobel Thomas

    Hi Isobel

We don’t have any open PHP 8 issues at the moment. Enabling debug as discussed above is the only way to know what’s happening for sure.
