Hello! I’ve desperately been trying to add a sidebar to the shop page on my website, because how it stands now there is nowhere that shows your cart or tags. I’ve tried everything from woosidebars, to making sure my cache is cleared and changing my page templates and nothing seems to work, does anyone have suggestions?
Hi Seb
Thanks for your question. Have you tried going to AppearanceWidgets and adding widgets to the Shop widget area?
Yes, I have, nothing seems to be working for me using Vantage. Site in question in idropt.net
Would it be possible for you to create a temporary admin account for us so we can log in and take a look? You can create the account with the following email address:
[email protected]
Just navigate to UsersAdd New in your WordPress admin. Enter siteorigin for the username and [email protected] for the email address. Make sure you’ve selected Administrator for the role and enabled the Send Password field so we receive the details.
Once we’re finished taking a look, you can delete this account. We’ll let you know when to do that.

Done, thanks!

I’ve added a Links widget to the Shop widget area for testing. Please, try a plugin conflict test. Temporarily deactivate all plugins except for SiteOrigin plugins and the main WooCommerce plugin. Details below:
This sounds like it could be a plugin conflict issue. Can you try disabling all non-SiteOrigin plugins and see if this fixes the issue? You’ll need to clear all your caches after disabling your plugins.
If it does fix the issue, then try re-enabling your plugins one by one until the issue comes back. This procedure will help diagnose which plugin is causing the issue.
Once we know that, we’ll be able to look at what might be causing the conflict and either solve the problem or help you find an alternative plugin.
If you aren’t using a SiteOrigin theme, then you can also try temporarily switching to one of the default WordPress themes to see if the issue is theme related.
After disabling all plugins, I still see no sidebar on my shop page.
In addition to temporarily deactivating all plugins except for those made by SiteOrigin and WooCommerce core plugin, please, switch back to Vantage parent to complete the test.
Sire currently is on Vantage Parent and no plugins enabled except those listed, still no sign of sidebar.
Taking a look…
Thanks. Should be resolved now. When you reactive the child theme, go to Appearance > Customize > Theme Design > Sidebar and set it to Right. It was set to None which was the problem.
Thank you so much!
Glad we could help. If anything else comes up. Let us know.
My only other question is my sidebar overlaps my slider now (revolution slider) is there any way to resolver this?
I don’t seem to be having any luck with a CSS only solution. Any chance you could ZIP your child theme and send it to:
