HI all
just joined recently as I’m redesigning my website (off line – MAMP) and have the origami theme and using the page builder plugin.
After building a couple of pages – still have a couple to do but I’ve just discovered that the blog doesn’t have a side bar for widgets and I definitely want/need this.
I’ve also realised that I should have used a child theme as any changes I make will be lost when I update the theme at any point – is it too late?
I can tweak bits of code but I’m not that good sooooo… easy way to sort this or have I just wasted my own time and have to start again *sob*
any tips / help would be gratefully received!!!
:-)
Lenny.
maybe I could switch to Vantage?
Would that mess up the pages (using page builder) that I’ve done so far?
Hi Lenny
Thanks for the wait. Switching to Page Builder with an existing sidebar would be ideal. All of your content in Page Builder is portable so you wouldn’t lose that.
If you need to modify any theme files in Vantage then you do need to make those changes from within a child theme. Here is a starter child theme, if required.

Hi Andrew
thanks for answering – I did switch to Vantage and for some reason couldn’t make the child theme – did a search on here and found it :-)
Everything switch fine which is great – love page builder – best solution I’ve found so far and I’ve tried loads.
:-)
Awesome :) Glad to hear everything is sorted now.
Thanks for your support. All the best with your site.
