Search, Scroll To Top, Nav and other icons are missing

11 years ago · Last reply by Greg Priday 11 years ago

Hi there!

I recently pointed a site I completed at an existing domain. When I did so, I lost the search, scroll to top, and left /right scroll icons (in the loop posts function). The icons were visible and functioning as expected while the site was resolving to just the IP address and while on a server behind my organisation’s firewall.

Also, some other icons like icomoon and other ones that I have created are not rendering either.

The site is now very much ‘live’ and I am uncertain as to the level of down time that might result from a theme re-installation from zip. Also, will this adversely affect the child theme that I am running from Vantage Premium?

Thanks,

Bryan

    Hi Bryan

One reason we’ve encountered for this is web hosts blocking requests for font files in the wp-content directory. All those icons you’re missing are iconic fonts.

Another possibility is that your new domain name is still requesting CSS from the old IP based URL. Can you check that you’ve updated your WordPress site URL and cleared any cache that might be pointing to the old URL?
