Hi there,
I’m having an issue all of the sudden when using my search functions on my site. What’s happening is that when I click “page 2” on a search results page, the page reloads but does not show the page 2 items. I disabled all plugins, and it still wouldn’t work. However, when I changed to a default theme, the search pages DO work, so I am assuming it’s a Vantage theme issue. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.
Hi ocm
Please head to Dashboard > Updates and run all pending updates, if any are there. This can sometimes resolve issues. Perhaps try de-activating all plugins and trying that test again. If you’re running a caching plugin please clear it’s cache before de-activating it.
If all of the above fails please send through a link and we’ll take a look.
Thanks
Thanks for your response, Andrew. I have tried the above suggestions again, and still no joy.

Thanks for the feedback. It looks like you’re running a search plugin, that plugin is perhaps appending a query onto the pagination links. I’ll do some testing with that plugin a bit later today and let you know if I’m able to find anything.
Thanks again, for looking into this. Just to let you know, I did deactivate the search plugin and I used the standard wordpress search, and still had the issue. Just a heads up. Happy Holidays btw!
I’ve found a similar thread on the WP.org forums related to this plugin. Tags within the url query would also suggest it’s related to this plugin.
?unonce=7cc40f209a&uformid=1381&s=uwpsfsearchtrg&taxo%5B0%5D%5Bname%5D
It goes on by you see the reference to uwpsfsearchtr.
Any chance you could fire up a thread on their WP.org support page and see if they know what might be causing this?
You could also change the search results template within the plugin’s settings and see if that helps at all.
Did you test with just this search plugin activated and all other plugins de-activated?
Happy Holidays to you too!
Thank you. Actually, they all say it’s a template issue. And since each time I deactivate every plugin and try searching both in default wordpress search as well as the plugin’s search, I tend to still agree that it is something within the template. The only other thing I can think of is that maybe this happened due to the recent page builder update?
I did tinker with the plugin’s settings also, still the same thing.
Like I said, the paging works in WP’s twenty fifteen template, so I’m still just scratching my head on this one.
Just adding:
What I see is that the search string in Vantage is not placing the” /page2/ ” before the pagination links.
Like so:
page2/?unonce=7cc40f209a&uformid=1381&s=uwpsfsearchtrg&taxo%5B0%5D%5Bname%5D
Whereas in the default WP template it only does:
?unonce=7cc40f209a&uformid=1381&s=uwpsfsearchtrg&taxo%5B0%5D%5Bname%5D
I hope that makes sense.
Whoops I meant the opposite, I clearly need coffee:
Vantage does not include the /page2/ and wordpress default does.
I got it all sorted now, thank you for your help. I needed to add a custom pagination for some reason, it’s all good now!
Epic, really glad to hear you made progress here. Thanks for sharing the info with everyone else.
All the best.
Hello Andrew & OCM,
Thank you for posting this thread. I am having the exact same issue with UQSF queries filter. Can you both please share how you have resolved this issue? I’m pulling my hair out for the solution. Thank you in advance.
Hi setravision
I’m not exactly sure what ocm did to resolve, perhaps a Vantage child theme with a different pagination function? I’ll reply further in your thread:
Thread: WP Query search not working in vantage premium
