I’m wondering if there is a way to build or install a plugin which makes a search box on top of the full page slider in vantage?

Thanks for running Vantage. Right now it’s just the header widget area that could be used in that regard. If you wanted a search box below the navigation but above the slider, it would unfortunately require a child theme and some custom development, most likely to header.php.
