I have downloaded and installed Page Builder, along with these 2 plug-ins.
1.) Column Shortcodes – Version 0.6.6 | By Codepress
2.) Shortcodes Ultimate – Version 4.9.3 | By Vladimir Anokhin
However, now when I’m trying to edit Pages I can only update / and preview my site’s pages when using Page Builder. Now when I try to use Column Shortcodes, Shortcodes Ultimate, or simply add in an image or text with WP’s normal Visual and Text editors it will not Update and Preview on the actual site. In essence, it will not save any of my changes or edits, unless they are built in Page Builder. Why is this?
Also, when I am in the Visual or Text editor I can see all 3 tabs on the upper right side of the body editing box. However, when I click the Page Builder tab to start working in that section, the other 2 tabs disappear, along with all the editing tools, and it now says, “Switch to Editor”, instead of keeping all three tabs up simultaneously. In your webpage, and other youtube tutorials, it looks like this should not be the case. When other people are editing in the Page Builder the screen does not seem to change the way my does. Might this be a reason for the WP editor not saving/ updating my work?
Hi Jessica
It’s unfortunately not possible to edit Page Builder content via the Visual or Text tabs. To get a rich text editor in Page Builder please install the following plugin: http://wordpress.org/plugins/black-studio-tinymce-widget/ and then insert the Visual Editor widget. The reason we removed the Visual and Text tabs when in Page Builder is to make it clearer that these can’t be used on Page Builder content.
It sounds like you could have a plugin conflict stopping content being saved in the Visual tab. To test this, add a new page, don’t use Page Builder, add content and try save it. This will ensure there is no confusion with the above info. If content still isn’t being saved try de-activating all non-SiteOrigin plugins, re-test, if the issue is fixed then re-activate your plugins one by one, each time checking the problem.
