Responsive text over image in vantage- css will not change text size

Hi guys,

First off this theme is amazing so thankyou!
I however have a problem. I have created a row with a background image and text over that image. I added the text with the siteorigin editor and it looks good on a computer screen. When I resize the browser window or check it out on mobile, the text overlaps. I have tried solving this with different @media queries but none of them seem to work.

I am using vantage theme 1.5.8.

Do you have ideas how I would go about solving this issue?
