Repeated updates to a Visual Text fields causes “Connection Reset” error, losing all work

I edit a visual text area (changing a bunch of words to the number “1”) and it updates just fine. I edit it again once more (changing the “1” to a “2”), no problem. But then doing the exact same kind of edit again (changing the “2” to a “3”), it bombs out with the error message that I’ve pasted down below the “****”,
even though nothing else is failing on my computer and IE and Firefox still work fine for all other sites and even getting back into WP. But any changes I made are lost and it won’t let me update that page again for a while.

I’ve posted a 3-minute video of myself going through the process at https://youtu.be/JQypcAvcSs8 (sorry it’s shaky…hard to hold a camera toward screen and type at the same time, but it should convey the problem well enough). The webpage that you see bombing is http://speaker.miloshapiro.com/wp-admin/post.php?post=753&action=edit , in case that helps at all.

Thanks so much. This is maddening.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Miloshapiro

This sounds like it could be a plugin conflict issue. Can you try disabling all non-SiteOrigin plugins and see if this fixes the issue? If it does fix the issue, then try re-enabling your plugins one by one until the issue comes back. This procedure will help diagnose which plugin is causing the issue.

Once we know that, we’ll be able to look at what might be causing the conflict and either solve the problem or help you find an alternative plugin.

Sorry this took a while to get back to you on; I wanted to set up with GoDaddy the ability to have my site auto-backup for my protection before messing with my plug-ins. I’ve heard that plug-ins can be problematic. Probably more so with adding a new one than deactivate and activate, but still wanted to play it safe.

Also, the problem seems to happen mostly (if not always) on just one screen. I can’t tell you at this point if I’ve seen it on another. So one more thing I wanted to test was seeing if I could build a new page extremely similar and see if the problem magically doesn’t appear. Well, I added about18 rows with two Visual Text boxes on most rows (see http://speaker.miloshapiro.com/you-found-the-dot/temp/testimonial-page ) and things were going really great…til they stopped going great. Now it’s crashing in exactly the same way as before. So now I’m wondering…is there a maximum number of those widgets that can go on a page before it has problems?

But back to your theory. Now that I had a second page crashing, I disabled all plug-ins except yours. That caused problems because I had errors all over my pages until I re-enabled one called “Black Studio TinyMCE Widget “. But with that re-enabled, I was able to start doing some editing again and the crash came almost immediately. So unless the conflict is with that one plug-in, it doesn’t seem that plug-in conflict is the issue here.

So frustrating…Your plug-in is the easiest way I’ve found to create the feeling of a table without actually using one, but I can’t have the program crash every time I want to add or edit the text and images in this row/column page.

Your help is very much appreciated!

For what it’s worth (and it’s probably little after this test), here is the list of the plug-ins that are now re-enabled.

    Hi, I Work Here

Thanks for your feedback. Just so we’re covering all of our bases, please, can you check with GoDaddy that the PHP memory available to WordPress is set to 256.

The last test we could run after the above is to test Page Builder, the Widgets Bundle and Black Studio with a default WordPress theme like Twenty Fifteen.

i’ll try to get them on the phone this afternoon, but that’s usually like 45 minutes of holding. If a client calls, I’ll have to hang up which is a problem with asking them anything.
By the way, I discovered that I had set that video to “Private” instead of “Unlisted” so you would not have been able to see it. That is corrected now.

I’m concerned that if we change the theme on such an intricate site that just changing it back might not put everything back the way it was. Weaver II has a lot of features to it that I take advantage of; if 2015 isn’t an exact match and we go back and forth, couldn’t that mess up my site big time?

    Hi, I Work Here

There shouldn’t be any loss of data from a theme change. Weavers options are stored in the database. It’s totally up to you though. The idea with the the theme test is to figure out if the problem is coming from Weaver. Right now we don’t know what the problem is. This isn’t a problem we experience in our local or live testing. If we’ve ruled out a plugin conflict then we’re left with:

    Theme
    Server
    WordPress core
