Remove white bar/space between hero layout and theme header

Hi!
Like the title says, I’m trying to get rid of the gap that occurs between the hero and my theme’s header. I get this no matter what layout I select from the page builder. I’ve tried adjusting the settings in the hero image itself, adjusting the row settings, and I’ve googled this to no end and nothing I have found works. I also found this page here on SiteOrigin https://siteorigin.com/thread/removing-gap-between-theme-header-and-hero-page/ and used the CSS provided in the siteorigin custom css editor and still doesn’t work, I even tried putting that code in the regular editor, also doesn’t work. I also used the siteorigin visual css editor to identify exactly what that area is and found the following three classes it applies to and also placed the code there, still doesn’t fix it:
.main {
padding-top: 0 !important;
}

.page .mainwrap {
padding-top: 0 !important;
}

.mainwrap {
padding-top: 0 !important;
}

any help is greatly appreciated, it’s driving me nuts.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Aetherhiannon,

    Do you have a public URL where we can take a look at the spacing to try and work out how to bypass it? If you need to keep this URL private from other users, just select “Private Reply” on the bottom right of the comment box.
