Remove unused CSS

6 years ago · Last reply by Andrew Misplon 6 years ago

Hi,

I heavily use the SiteOrigin custom CSS editor. Over the years I’ve added a few hundred lines of code. Many of these styles are now outdated and no longer used. Is there a way to easily compare this code against my overall site and find unused styles?

I’m aware of chrome dev tools coverage feature, but those core CSS files have additional styles from various plugins that I can’t remove easily. Can I run an audit ONLY against the code contained in the SiteOrigin CSS editor?

    Hi Andrew

You could use the filter field in coverage to only assess the ‘so-css’ style sheet.

I’m not sure how you’d do that site-wide though. Unfortunately, I haven’t looked into a challenge like this before.

By filter, I mean in the coverage drawer there is a search field. Hopefully, this helps a little.
