remove the featured image on the blog posts and on the homepage – Influence theme

Hi Andrew. I want to remove the featured image on the blog posts and on the homepage but still be visible using other plugins such as a slide that links to the post. I’m using Influence Theme. Thanks

    Hi Andrew, or if possible is there a way I could have a category’s posts featured in the home page using the page builder but with excerpted text and a medium size thumbnail to the left of the text? I’ve used a number of plugins but the layout comes out weird or just shows the title and link to the posts. I did find one plugin that allows me to do this fine but the themes default thumbnail also appears, leaving me with two thumbnails for each post (this is why I asked to get them removed in my first message). but if you could help me with featuring the excerpted posts and thumbnail using the page builder as mentioned at the beginning of this message, that would really help loads.
    Whilst I’m here there’s one more thing if you could kindly help me with please. I’ve uploaded a video for the slide, however the video’s height takes up the whole screen. How can I get the height to be decreased to the size like in the demo slide?
    Many Thanks

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi

    Please try inserting the following in a Custom CSS plugin like Simple Custom CSS:

    /* Influence Hide Featured Images */

    article.entry .post-thumbnail img {
    display: none;
    }

    For featuring posts using Page Builder, try the Post Loop widget. The final field in that widget is called Additional. Enter an argument like:

    cat=x

    Where x the category you want to display. You can also comma separate category ID’s. You can get a category ID by viewing the category under Posts > Categories and checking the url once you’ve clicked on a category, the ID is in the url.

    Hi Andrew! Thank you very much! Both have worked perfectly! Any suggestions for the video frame size in the slider? Thanks again!

    For sure.

    In the demo the video being used is a smaller than the overlay image. The video then zooms to match the size of the overlay image. Have you tried decreasing the export dimensions of your video? The widget unfortunately doesn’t have controls at this level.
