Hello. Thanks for great template! I use it few weeks and I saw a little mistake in Vantage. When I use in template option commend Post Excerpt then in site I didn’t see button with read more. Maybe is it my fault, I don’t know but it is really annoying mistake because people can’t read full text.
It would be nice to repair this.
See You!
Read More – mistake in Vantage

Hi Bertre
Thanks for using Vantage.
This is unfortunately default behaviour. To get a Read More button you’d need to change your Blog content to Full Post (Appearance > Theme Settings > Blog) and then use the more tag in your posts to split content: http://en.support.wordpress.com/splitting-content/more-tag/
It is first time when I see this problem – other templates also have an option like Excerpt and it is possible to click Read More (or Click to continue). Your method is also known (and this works good) but the reason that I want to use Excerpt is doing shorter post automatically.
I think that You should replace […] in Read More. Today Post Excerpt is totally failed, sorry.
Thanks for your feedback. I’ve made a note of it on our side. For now though you’ll unfortunately need to choose between using the excerpt with no read more OR manually inserting the more tag. Sorry I don’t have an immediate solution.
It’s a year later, has this basic functionality been added yet? I am still seeing what people are reporting in several threads that are all older. I have bought one premium license for testing through a site design process. I like the theme, but this is pretty basic functionality in most paid themes? Having to manually insert Read More tags is more than my client should have to do. An excerpt should generate a read more link.
Hi Torndownunit
Thanks for reaching out.
If you’d like to add this functionality to your Vantage installation, please, try the following child theme. To make use of this child theme:
1. Download the ZIP file using the link above.
2. Install from AppearanceThemesAdd NewUpload Theme.
3. Ensure AppearanceTheme SettingsPost Content is set to Post Excerpt.
4. Test it out. If you’re happy you’ll need to redo your Appearance > Menus > Menu Location and Appearance > Customize settings. Unfortunately, whenever activating a child theme in WordPress, these will reset. This is because the child theme has a different slug (name) than the parent.
Hope that helps.
