Last update of Page Builder gives function “Read More” in Post Loop.
The problem is when we use in Vantage option “Post Excerpt” (Theme Settings->Blog->Post Content->Post Excerpt). Then in Home Page with Post Loop I didn’t have “Read More” but only “[…]” which is unclickable. I think that here “Read more” is necessary.

Can You change this and make “Post Excerpt” compatibile with “Post Loop”?

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Anik

    Thanks for running Vantage.

I’ve reported this on our side but for now I’m afraid this is a limitation of the theme and plugin combination. You’ll need to choose one setting that applies to the blog and Post Loop widget. Hopefully in the future we’ll be able to introduce a work around for this.

    Sorry I don’t have more.

    Hi, thanks for reply.

“You’ll need to choose one setting that applies to the blog and Post Loop widget. ”
But the problem is that there is no setting which work good. When I use “Full Post” instead of “Post Excerpt” it show all post, but it didn’t cut it (for example after 20 words) and didn’t show “Read More”. I tried a lot of combinations, and all didn’t work as should be.

The only one option to see this function is cutting all post in WordPress Editor (adding ) so it isn’t so good news…

I think that when You make option Read More in Your addon it should be compatibile with Your template.

    Hi, I Work Here

Sorry, I’m not entirely with you. Are you saying that when you set Post Content to Full Content and use the Read More tag in your blog posts (http://en.support.wordpress.com/splitting-content/more-tag/), it’s not working?

This option which You say works good – here is correct. When I use WP “Read More tag” then it works ok.

    But I think that:
    1. When I use “Post Excerpt” and tick in “Read More” in Page Builder Post Loop then it also should show Read More instead of […]. What is more – today “Post Excerpt” didn’t show image from post.
    OR
    2. When I use “Full Content” and tick in “Read More” in Page Builder then post should be cut to for example 20 words and put Read More.

Maybe my English isn’t so good and I can’t show You what I want, but for me it didn’t work so good (especially 1st paragraph).

In Page Builder – Post Loop only template “Circle Icons” works good – It show part of text, ends by […} and add “Read More”.
And I think that all templates in Post Loop should have this…

Ok, I read few things and the text: “What is more – today “Post Excerpt” didn’t show image from post.” is out of date – It was my fault ;)

I also read that “[…]” is from WordPress engine, not from Your theme/plugin, so sorry for this post. But I still think that “Post Excerpt” should have “Read More”, it is very necessary in my opinion.

    Hi, I Work Here

Thanks for your feedback here Anik. I agree, ideally the Post Loop widget should act independently of Theme Settings so you can use either More Links OR Excerpts regardless of what you’ve set in Theme Settings. I’ve made a note of this on my side as a feature request.

    Thanks again.
